Just Another Number (Mostly)
By ,
My flight landed in the morning and I wanted to get to the spa before heading to the Theatre that day. I was allowed to check-in early, one of the few blessings bestowed upon me there at that hotel. Location was central. Mammoth gargantuan sized hotel! They have this kiosk system for check in/out which was quick but I still miss the personal touches I'm used to getting when I get checked in by a human. I usually stay at full service hotels and have come to expect quite a bit from the hotels in the way of customer service so when it's a machine responding to me, there's nothing personal about that to increase my level of customer delight/satisfaction. The room was very large but it stops right there with the benefits. I was totally yucked out with the bathroom tile. Can you say "Tilex"? That was definitely not cool at all. The only really decent thing which happened there for me was after I checked out, the bellman/doorman was so very attentive. Realizing that I was a lady traveling alone, he hand-picked my taxi for me. It felt like my safety was his only concern at that point in time and, for me, that is a beautiful thing.

Mixed Experience
By ,
The location is great but we were there for a conference and got a very small room overlooking the roof area and the heating was not working. The hotel was full according to the manager and they would not move us to another room. I had the same experience attending another conference during the summer with no air conditioning during a sweltering week. The management would not move us-same excuse. It does no good to be a Hilton Honors member at this one.

worst stay imaginable
By ,
i read the descriptions given to this site. i stayed one night and thouroughly went over the room. my black light picked up certain fluids on the bed, towels, and other furniture in the room. the room was obviosly not cleaned at all after the prior visitors had left. the service was something i would expect from a motel(which i have even stayed at more pleasant of those). All in all, this hotel is something i expected to find in a third world country.

Great Location
Visited NYC last July. Loved the location - walked to Central Park, Times Square, Broadway, and shopped til' we dropped. Concierge service was awesome - hotel staff was less than average. But nothing beats this location!

You don't want to leave the hotel!
By ,
This hotel is gorgeous. I walked in and I couldn't stop admiring it. The rooms are very relaxing and you can look over the city. There are mirrors everywhere, and the whole room is just amazing. You feel like a princess when you walk in the room. I loved being so close to Times Square. Everything was great.

Home Away from Home
By ,
Everytime my sisters and I take our annual NY trip this is where we go. They are located in the middle of everything... just blocks away from Times Square and 5th Ave. The service is always excellent and expeditious and the rooms are clean as are the other facilities. I normally have something to pick at, but nothing here so far. Can't wait for the 4th Annual Girls Trip to NY.

Totally unacceptable
By ,
When we arrived we were given the key to our room and quickly discovered the room not been cleaned, beds were not made, trash covered the room. After we complained, we received another room 15 floors above the other group we were traveling with. No apologies from staff. The next evening we returned to find no bath towels in our room. We called guest services 3 times to receive towels & an hour and a half later(at 1 in the morning, we received them). Again, no apologies. Our thermostat did not work - it stayed at 76 degrees the entire time. Our TV also did not work. Staff was totally unconcerned and acted as though we were disturbing them by asking for these simple amenities. A clean room, towels, TV,.... is that too much to ask for when you're staying at "the Hilton"?

First Time In New York
By ,
The hotel was excellent! Very close to the sites we wanted to see. Several restaurants and shops were close by. The subway also had multiple entrances within a few blocks of the hotel. We always were treated with respect and the entire staff was very helpful. We got to the hotel a few hours early and our room was not ready so they let us check our luggage, for free, and we were able to go enjoy New York until we were ready to come back to the hotel. Very good experience and will definitely stay here again!

DISAPPOINTED
By ,
OUR A/C WAS NOT WORKING FOR THE FIRST NIGHT WE ARRIVED AND COULDN'T GET IT REPAIRED UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING. WAS A VERY MUGGY NIGHT.....HILTON APOLOGIZED BUT LEFT IT AT THAT....FOR THEIR RATES, I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN THAT. THE DAY WE WERE LEAVING THE HILTON EMPLOYEE GOT US A CAB , (WE WERE TO MAKE A 3:00 P.M. BUS), LEAVING AT 2:30 FOR PORT OF AUTHORITY. WELL, THE CAB DRIVER EXITED THE HOTEL THE WRONG WAY AND WENT UP OVER THE CURB, SCARING ME AT THAT POINT..... THEN HE LEFT US OFF 4 BLOCKS FROM OUR DESTINATION BECAUSE HE TOOK A WRONG STREET...NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE DIDN'T MAKE OUR BUS AND HAD TO SIT FOR ANOTHER 2 HOURS UNTIL THE NEXT ONE. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE.....

location was perfect
By ,
The location was perfect and the staff went out of their way to assist us with information on ski packages, tours and shopping. The service was great! The complimentary breakfast was a real treat and a money saver. We met other guests from all over the United States and enjoyed visiting with them.
