DON'T STAY HERE; AND I'LL TELL YOU WHY.
Good:
Susie at the front desk was friendly and helpful.
Bed gave me a good night's sleep.
Nice area; next to RIT.
Bad:
Only Susie was at the front desk when I checked in (~7pm), so when the phone rang, she picked it up; interrupting my checkin.
In the room, the bathroom door knob was loose; and I mean wobbling loose.
Although minor; it was surprising that someone had let it got that loose; it would have taken a long time. I guess nobody does room inspections on a regular basis.
Phone Susie and she had maintenance repair it; within 15 minutes.
MESSAGE: DON'T STAY HERE IF YOUR EXPECT THINGS TO BE MAINTAINED.
Looked under the bed to find a previous guests papers.
I tend to sniff around when I stay in a hotel the first time; to help me in deciding to stay there again.
MESSAGE: DON'T STAY HERE IF YOU EXPECT THE ROOMS TO HAVE BEEN CLEANED PROPERLY.
Went to use the wireless internet to find it extremely slow.
I mean very very very slow; unusably slow.
I did a speed test (i.e. speedtest dot com) with these results:
Download: 0.35 mbps
Upload: 0.66 mbps
By anyone's standards in 2012, this is an EMBARRASSMENT.
The hotel is next to RIT; get the kids there to help you.
There is an RJ45 jack for wired; but no RJ45 cable; duh?
I chose to tether off my cell phone to get work done.

Went to take shower in the morning.
I find "body lotion" and "hair conditioner" tubes; but NO SHAMPOO.
MESSAGE: DON'T STAY HERE IF YOU EXPECT TO SHAMPOO.
I found the noise from the heating/cooling unit annoying, particularly as my bed was right next to it.
I tried to turn it off at the controls; but nothing worked. It was loud.
MESSAGE: DON'T STAY HERE IF YOU EXPECT TO HAVE A QUIET SLEEP.
A few feet from the elevator there was an (wall) electrical outlet with something plugged it.
Upon closer inspection it looked like a cell phone charger; the mini USB wire just hanging down onto the carpet.
That's UNUSUAL I thought.
I fell asleep early; but my son traveling with me charged a movie to my account; $19!
I wasn't too happy about that; but now I know why the internet is "THROTTLED" to be unusably slow.
It prevents you from streaming netflix, hulu, etc.; their incentive to make you pay $19 for a movie.
MESSAGE: DON'T STAY HERE TO WATCH A MOVIE.
Went to breakfast; buffet style; got some eggs/toast and sat down with my son.
Understand when I made the reservation, I bought the "bed and breakfast package for two"; which specifically says "...two breakfast coupons per night of stay each valid for one breakfast entree and choice of two beverages".
Well, the hostess comes up, sees we each had a buffet breakfast and says that I owe an additional $3.60 PLUS GRATUITY.
She tells me the coupon given to me by the front desk when I checked in includes breakfast for up to $20 PLUS GRATUITY; and, that it is not possible to have 2 buffet breakfasts for that price.
That was not the agreement I entered into; and told her so.
MESSAGE: DON'T STAY HERE IF YOU EXPECT TO HAVE BREAKFAST.
Needless to say, this hotel has PROBLEMS.
MESSAGE: If you like PROBLEMS and FRUSTRATION after a long drive, then COME HERE!
I found out the hotel was taken over by new management; not sure how long ago that was.
That management has instituted changes that caused these types of PROBLEMS.
It has impacted the staff and their ability to do their job well.
Morale is low; and they are frustrated as well.
To summarize, this hotel misses on the little things; a sign of weak management.
Guys - wake up; it's the little things that make the decision to come back or not!
Would I come back? Not unless other hotels in the area turned out to be worse.
I gave it an "average" rating; but was leaning toward poor due to the little things.
By the way, this is not a cheap hotel; 150/night. I expected more.
MESSAGE: DON'T STAY AT THE RADISSON HOTEL ROCHESTER AIRPORT!!!!!!!
There are too many other options in the area; why take a risk on this place?
