We will go back!
My family & I stayed at Eastgate for 4 nights. We reserved a junior suite which included a full kitchen with dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, wine glasses, cork screw, coffee maker, microwave full sized fridge and even a toaster! The main sleeping area included a queen-sized bed and the living room area had a sleeper sofa, sitting area, desk and dining room table/chairs nearer to the kitchen. We could'nt believe the value for money! It had everything we needed and more. The service was professional and friendly and the outdoor dining area which was part of the restaurant was great for having a few drinks at night. (a bit pricy though)
Everything was in walking distance.. Grand Central Station about 10 min, Japanese, chinese, pizza place, dunkin donuts and deli's right around the corner! (Go to Ming's Delight chinese take out.. cheap and very good food)! The best deli to go to is "Sarge's" which is about a 5-10 min walk from the hotel. (turn left out of the hotel, then left again and stay on that side.. you'll see it! As far as the various comments for this hotel.... yes, some of the rooms are a little dated.. but they are clean, spacious and all that you need when you're in NYC. Where else can you get a suite for $100/night in midtown NYC during the summmer???? I would rate this hotel 3 1/2 stars on decor, 4 stars on service and 5 stars on location and value! Upon checking out, they even ordered us a luxury car to take us back to the aiport which cost us $65 including tolls and tip!!
