Great hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/13/09
The hotel was perfect for a family of eight. We requested adjoining rooms and that is what we got right at check in time. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were a good size and clean. We had a great visit.

what a disapointment
By coolverne, 06/04/09
the rooms were overpriced. the room was small and shabby. the bathroom was even worse. the staff was nice, i could not complain about them. one maid was stupid, barging on us with a key though. room service was horrible. i have never been to a hotel where they dont roll your foold in on a table. they sat the whole tray on the bed and left. i would not stay here again, they had the nerve to expect a tip! i would not stay here again.

Good location
By SARAH, 09/21/08
Having just stayed here for 5 days, we were disappointed with hotel, it was very shabby and in desperate need of a refurb, our first room had a broken window and cracked sink, asked to be moved where the second one was better but very noisy with passing traffic, even though we were on the 16th floor! The toilet/shower room was very cramped. However the good thing about staying here was the location, walking distance to Central Park, 5th Ave and a local subway. Wouldn't stay here again in its present condition.

Bargain--You get what you pay for.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/05/08
I stayed at the Midtown Holiday Inn for 3 nights in Feb. 2008. I found a very cheap rate on the internet. For the location (midtown), the price was unbelievable. This is not a glamorous place--more like a motel than a hotel; I wouldn't recommend it for a special occasion (like your honeymoon), or even if you're on a special vacation. But the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was reasonably helpful and courteous. This is not the Four Seasons, so if you're expecting that kind of service, you will be disappointed. All things considered, I'd stay here again.

Good and Bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/02/07
For the money it is not a bad location, If the staff were indeed passing along the wishes of the manager the ownere/chain should be looking for another manager. As another vsitor mentioned we were asked to put a $5.00 deposit on each wine glass. We had a wheel chair reserved for "Gramma" and after getting everything prepared and we were on our way out for our adventure they stopped us at the door and said we couldn't take it off the premisis even after we offered a deposit! One of the staff advised us he wasn't supposed to say anything but told us where we could rent one. The list could go on but you get the idea. The staff seemed to be extremly intimidated. Stat somewhere else till they make some changes.

Great hotel. Everyone was friendly and eager to help. Everything was clean and we had a great view. Bus stop, park and overnight markets nearby. Will stay again.

OK on a budget
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/06
Great location; service is OK. The hotel is really close to theatres, Central Park, shopping, and the subway, BUT you get what you pay for. The hotel only had a smoking room when I got there, even though I booked a non smoking room. Even with the windows open, it was awful! Room service for breakfast was fast and the breakfast was pretty big. Concierge was no help when asked for local restraunts (he just gave me a book); turns out they have a big list of local places that deliver in the room (could he not have just told me that???). Staff was good about relocating me to a non-smoking room, which was MUCH better--much bigger and quiet(back side of hotel). There is a super-nice gym on the ground level for you weight lifting/exercise hounds. They have free internet access which actually works well. Don't go here for a Luxury NY hotel experience, but overall it is adequate and a pretty good value for the $ in Manhattan.

Disappointed will not go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/06
My daughter and I stayed at your hotel 10/10/06 fot 1 night. The Rachael Ray show put us up there. I do not take elevators and let me tall you your stairway was "creepy". We went out for the evening and on returning to the hotel I asked the bellhop to escort us up the stairs, he said he had never seen the stairway and yes it was "creepy". We stayed on the 2nd floor in a smokers room but we wanted a non smokers room but I guess there were none. The coke machine in the hallway did not work. Where were the little shampoo bottles?. We ordered breakfast, coffee 2 bagels with cream chesse we got no cream cheese and the bagels were cold and hard. The room was very hot because the air only went up so far and not far enough. You should first take into consideration that some people do not take elevators, the stairway was dimly lite and dumpy. I would be afraid to climb the stairs by myself.
