Bay Shore Inn, Bay Shore

We were looking for an inexpensive place to crash for the night and found the bay shore inn. Simple, clean and pleasant staff. Good location and would stay here again.

I would not recommend this place, it has bed bugs and the customer service is lousy. I am reporting this to the health board.

Had property stolen from the room and were followed by police when we left for the day. They searched the car and us for drugs, then told us to get the hell out of that place as they were watching it for dealers. Nice

This is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. It's an ugly, nasty, smelly place with ugly, nasty, smelly people. You couldn't pay me enough money to stay at this disgusting dive again.

I stayed at the Bay Shore Inn, on Long Island, NY a couple of weeks ago and I have to say, after reading these reviews, I was surprised. I think these reviews are mixed up! The room was reasonably priced and clean. The lobby is clean; it did not smell of smoke anywhere and there are no dogs allowed, so I’m not sure where those comments came from. There isn’t a pool; no coffee maker, nor is there a restaurant on site, but I wasn’t expecting any of these. As for the pictures, it showed the right picture of what the front of the place looks like and the room itself. I think the review labeled ‘internet false showing’ must have been for a different place because there isn’t a restaurant on the premises. It was perfect for a short stay. Clean, comfortable and well priced.

The people at the front desk are incredibly rude. I was expecting a call and called down once each night to see if I had any messages, only on the fourth day did they bother to tell me they don't even take messages. The housekeeping staff pays NO attention to the do not disturb sign and will pound on your door at 9am until you tell them to go away. The rooms are dirty, the shower was falling apart, they don't provide shampoo or anything, the tv had only only one volume - super loud.

when we got there the room was not at all like the internet. Internet makes it look much nicer than what the rooms are. The resturant food was expensive and not the greatest. The price of $200 a real rip off. the rooms were not updated neat some renovations. The management didn't want to work with us . We booked the room for three nights on the internet and when we got there the first night we told them that we would only want the room for two nights . They said they would charge us since we booked on the internet. Do not stay here............ Waterton nice place but stay somewhere's else.

We were very disappointed in the room for the price that we paid. A real rip off. The fan in the bathroom didn't work, no pool, patio no table and dirty,we were put by a pet room where the dog barked, could hear the people on the top floor walking, hear the showers and tubs water , coffee maker really cheep and no cups for drinks. Tv really cheap. Not a good place to stay. We had to get the sheets changed due to dirty (bloody). The staff were really nice. Wanted to leave one day early and they said that they would charge us full price. Didn't even want to work with us. If you go to Waterton nice place do not stay here.......A real rip off for the pricing that we paid. Jay Edmonton, Alberta

My friends and I had driven in to see the fireworks show at Jones Beach and decided to crash instead of driving all the way back home. My friend and I went in to get a room like we had last year and we asked if they had rooms with two beds and we were asked how many people it was for and we told them 4. We were then told that they didn't have rooms with 2 beds and that they only catered to one bed rooms and that it would cost $92. So we went to our cars to tell our friends they didn't have 2 beds and one guy decided to go back in with my friend to try to finagle with the guy a bit. And the guy told us that the 4 people rooms with 2 beds were only meant for FAMILIES! So my friend asked if there was some place else and we ended up at an econolodge that slept 6 people and was so much nicer and roomier and the staff was super friendly and for the extra 2 beds it ended up being $119 for the whole night.

We stayed there for two nights last year, the place was convienent, clean, and they had a nice breakfast early in the morning. We like coffe early and it was ready, and good. We plan another trip to Long Island soon and will stay there.
