Mediocre, not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/03/09
The place was nice enough, the king room was about the same as a chain hotel size. What I couldn't believe was that we paid $150 a night for the room! For that much, I was expecting a bigger, nicer room, maybe breakfast or something more! The walls were very thin-I wouldn't recommend for a romantic getaway. We were distracted by kids next door and thumping footsteps upstairs. There was also some hair in the drain, but other than that the place was very clean. I was also really disappointed because the website makes it seem very historical and interesting, but really it's just a standard hotel. If this is the last place available and you have the extra money to spend, but if you're looking for a good deal-this is unfortunately not it.

Loved it!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/12/08
We stayed at this place in February and thought it was great. We stayed in one of their sportsmen cabins and it was very well furnished and very clean. The cabin has an awesome view of the lake. I would recommend this place to friends, family, or anyone else and I would stay there again. They even had a saloon and the locals were really friendly. I wish we could have stayed longer, but we had to get back home.

I can't believe anyone rated this place 5 stars
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/03/08
We relied on the reviews to decide to stay at the Laguna Vista Lodge and what a mistake that was. We were supposed to have a lake view and our view was out a 2' by 1.5' window. There was no place to hang clothes so we just left them on the floor. There was only one working TV channel even though they represent they have cable TV. No plug in the tub to take a bath, no hair dryer and more. The girl at the front desk was nice but that was about the only redeeming thing at this place.

Perfect Getaway
By Ginger, 10/25/05
I stayed at the Laguna Vista Lodge in Eagle Nest, NM because it was centrally located to all the area attractions and has beautiful views. The rooms were extremely clean, with all the amenities and the prices were very reasonable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The managers were friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about the area and had great ideas about how to get the most out of our stay. They had great information on beautiful scenic drives, wildlife watching and fishing. Thanks for a great vacation.

This place is right next to the lake. Great staff, manager is very informative about the fishing and area attractions. Rate is the best around. Made me feel like I was at home.
