Too much 'nickel and dimeing', small rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/17/11
Lovely exterior and lobby. Great location. Service was friendly enough. But this place whacks you with ridiculous additional charges that really add up. Rooms are small. You don't get twin queens, but twin fulls. Pretty tight if you have to share. Bathroom suffered from low quality shower and a frustrating toilet that forced you to hold the handle down and still never flushed properly. Will not come back unless they get this place in shape and stop the silly add on charges.

Will not be back.
By Kel, 4/2/09
The outside of the hotel is lovely. The lobby and lounge are beautiful. The shops downstairs are great. The location is handy if you're only visiting to shop & eat downtown. And that's where the good review ends. The rooms are dark and cramped. The ventilation system in our room didn't work probably and was never fixed even though we stayed for a whole week. The day before we checked out our keycards mysteriously stopped working. No explanation was offered other than we "must have done something to them." The beds and pillows are positively atrocious. They're mushy and totally useless and, though I complained several times about an allergy to something in the room, nothing was ever done except to give me a blank stare like "yeah, whaddya want me to do about it?" The concierge was frequently absent and usually for about 2 hours around noon and in the evening when our meetings ended and we needed assistance getting around town or with reservations. All in all, it was not a good experience and certainly not a good value. And should you decide to stay, ask the hotel to fax you a list of all of their added charges BEFORE you book a room. They charge for every little thing whether you use the services or not.

Not recommended, will never return.
By Jeffrey, 9/23/08
Watch out. Buyer beware. While the location is great, the devil is in the details. We paid extra for a "Vista" room that I understood would have some sort of view and a balcony. My wife called in advance and asked the hotel about the views and was excited about what she was told. Our room was of modest size, our view was of an air conditioner unit and a parking garage, our balcony was shared. When we requested a different room, they moved us 4 doors down with a view of a storage building and the same parking garage. We prepaid our reservation through Orbitz, but the hotel added a mandatory $10 per day "activity fee" to use the pool and fitness center. That's the first time I have ever had to pay a fee like that. In advance we requested a baby crib, they quoted us $30 per night for a crib!! We brought our own. That's the first time I've ever heard of a crib fee more than a few bucks, most offer them free. Apparently they don't trust you to leave a decent tip so they tack on a mandatory 20% tip at the spa. When I went to the front desk to check out, there were multiple guests complaining, so I left and went back later. When I returned there were different guests complaining at the front desk. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I would not go back. The location was not worth the money. The room was not worth the money. The hotel did not come close to meeting my expectations, and I'm usually very easy to please.

Will never come back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/26/08
Hotel resevervations for higher price talked us into room with view of town and a balcony. View was block by stone wall and by roof. Stand on toes and could see sky. Room disappointing for price. Sink had no place to set anything. No lights by bed. TV did not work. Room very noisy. In summary, overpriced and there are definitely better places to stay in Santa Fe.

We won't stay here again!
By BEVERLY, 8/18/08
We try to go to Santa Fe as often as possible and were very excited to stay at the Loretto! To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We checked in after 5:00 PM and were told that they could not find our reservations and once that was cleared up we were asked to wait for a few minutes while our room was readied. Okay - even though check-in is 4:00 PM. Then we were sent to a room that had not yet been cleaned up from the previous guests. We went back down and were given a new room where the towels were still wet. The first morning we showered and our tub did not drain properly - evidently nothing could be done, so we showered in 4 to 6-inches of water everyday. The second day we were there our coffee mugs were removed and no new ones were left for us. The morning we left, we made sure the 'Do Not Disturb' sign was on the door (check-out is 11:00 AM) we were dressing for breakfast and it was before 8:00 AM and housekeeping unlocked the door and walked right in. They apologized, but this was just the final straw to a total disappointing experience! We'll go back to Santa Fe, but not to the Loretto!

It was a very nice hotel and has nice and clean rooms. My family and I LOVED how the hotel was by a lot of things like the square and that we didnt have to use our car at all.

Incredible!
By Gwendolyn, 6/17/08
We held our June 2008 wedding here and it was absolutely wonderful! The service, food and decor were outstanding and the location made it a perfect setting for our guests to gather both before and after events. The hotel is under new and MUCH more professional management, so there were a few signs of repair/construction around the hotel as they spruce up this architectural jewel - but the repair work was not enough to disturb our enjoyment. We HIGHLY recommend the Inn at Loretto - just wonderful!

Great Property, Great Location
By Christina, 6/12/08
The hotel is terrific. The exterior when you pull up looks just like a pueblo. The concierge told me that it is reminicent of the Taos Pueblo. The service was wonderful and the newly remodeled rooms are very nice as well. My only complaint about the rooms was that they were dark. The location is just two blocks from the square and is perfect. IT is right next to the Loretto Chapel.

Not impressed
Work was being done on the hotel and the floor we were on was bare, plastic on the hall rug and workman in the hall. Maid service missed several things...the room was an adjoining room and we could hear the conversations in the next room without trying. The decor was tacky. I expected more for the $300 a night room we had...won't go back there nor recommend it.

Looking forward to our next visit.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/18/08
I've been at the Loretto many, many times, with friends and family. Each visit has been very comfortable. The rooms are always clean and comfy and the staff is extremely accommodating and helpful. The location is acceptional - close to shops and restaurants. We have never stayed anywhere else except the Inn at Loretto. They usually have lowkey entertainment in the lounge...very nice. We're coming back in March.
