Beach Club Hotel, Ocean City

This place is just horrible. The room is dirty, it has had the same disgusting linens for at least a decade if not longer. When I checked in this year the toilet was covered in urine and it was never cleaned the following day either. I paid an astronomical amount of money for "ocean view" which turned out to be geriatric view. I opened my curtains to realize that I was on the ground floor with the pool and you could only open your curtains if you didn't mind a swarm of elderly persons staring into your room. I asked if their was some sort of mistake at "private balcony" was part of the room description and i was told that WAS ocean view and there were no rooms available on a higher floor. The restaurant has diner quality food and the tables are crammed in next to each other. The only positive is that it has direct contact to the beach.

We are the type of family that would much rater eat at a Chef Owned and operated Restaurant than eat at one owned by a corporation… We are tired of the corporate idea of a good restaurant. We have been eating at Steve & Carolyn Nicoletti's restaurant’s since the early 80's when they were the original founders and owners of the Culinary Garden. To say we love Café Beach Club is an understatement! Let's see, they’re Chef owned, and everyday they are open the Chef works. They make their own stocks, soups, sauces, dressings, omelet’s made in omelet pans, homemade Belgian waffles, homemade whipped cream, smoked salmon eggs Benedict, surf and turf burgers, roast fresh turkey for clubs, homemade jumbo lump crab cakes, the make a crab cake club sandwich on a fresh baked croissant (it’s called a Café Beach “Club”) and yes they even make homemade desserts (try the chocolate cappuccino cake). We ate there last during the weekdays in September and while other restaurants sat empty they had lines. We believe it's because they offer high quality food for reasonable prices. Cafe Beach Club is oceanfront with outside patio dining available. The food quality is truly top notch, and the place is always clean. The staff must be well trained and all of them seem to really like working there, because you see pride in their work, and they really work together well as a team; we find that a very rare thing these days. If you can’t already tell we are true foodies, we appreciate fine food, prepared and served by people that really know what they are doing! We just wish they were in Philly, so we could eat at Café Beach Club year round, but it gives us something to look forward to when we go to Ocean City, NJ!

This was our first time at this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The food at the cafe was delicious and the staff was very friendly. We especially appreciated the in room safes. Looking forward to a return trip next summer!

This was our first time in Ocean City and we really liked the Beach Club Hotel. The room was very spacious and very clean. The beds were comfortable. The location is wonderful - right on the boardwalk and across from the beach. The service was good and it had a decent restaurant that was conveinent. The only complaints were that the "baby pool" was just a section of the big pool gated off and the one elevator in the hotel was very small. Stay on the 2nd floor if you can because then you are on the level of the restaurant and you can walk right outside and the pool, boardwalk and beach are right there.

This is a great hotel for a beach getaway. You can't beat the location. It's right on the beach! Our room was very clean. The service was excellent. The cafe was great. Nothing like eating and overlooking the ocean at the same time. We had no complaints. We will definitely return. I do agree withe the folks that wrote that the balconies are not private but I go there for the beach not the balconies. You could hear people in the other rooms but not so much that you could hear the conversation.

Our family has been coming to the Beach Club Hotel for over 20 years. We LOVE it here and refer to it as our beach home. We have a pool, resturant, coffee every moring, maid service, newspaper delivered to our door, friendly staff, a few feet from the boardwalk and just a few more to the beach, very clean, comfortable beds and so much more!! We wouldn't stay anywhere else!! Thank you Beach Club staff, you are WONERFUL!

You can hear the ocean from your room. It is far enough away from too many crowds but close enough to everything to just walk anywhere in town. Clean, nice rooms, great view of the Ocean. I had my wedding on the beach, just out front of the hotel. They have always been accommodating to me and my family.

I have been there two times where the air conditioner did not work. The maintenance men were reluctant to fix and took their grand old time. If you pay all of that money, you want the air to work in the summer, plus we also had a baby.

BED BUGS EVERYWHERE. DIRTY BATHROOM! FURNITURE IN ROOMS OUTDATED SMELLEY CARPETS HOLES IN MATTRESS. CUSTOMER SERVICE EXTREMLY POOR. I WAS SO UNSATISFIED WITH THE POOR QUALITY OF THE STAY.

The Beach Club Hotel is one of our favorite places to stay. We love the ocean front rooms. We have been going there for years. What we really enjoy is the Cafe Beach Club (restaurant). Unbelievable food, great friendly service and ocean front outdoor open air patio dining as well as inside air conditioned dining. With the great Cafe and wonderful ocean front rooms we don't even think of going elsewhere while in Ocean City, NJ.
