Quality Inn Philadelphia/Gloucester City NJ, Gloucester City

This Place is the most horrible place you can ever stay at. The rooms are dirty filthy and smell so bad its unbelievable. Front desk clerks don't even give a dam about the customer neither do they care of customer service. The place always has cops over there as there is always something fishy going on. Bottom line this place sucks and even if this was the last place on the earth I would not recommend it to any one.

The room we had was OK and was clean but you get what you pay for in this part of the country. The motel is smack between the north bound and south bound highway so quiet it isn't but it wasn't all "that" bad. Our room was a standard queen bed and the rooms are quite small. They have a free breakfast in the AM with do it yourself waffles, cereal, yogurt, boiled eggs, toast, bagels, some "fresh" fruit, and juices. One real bummer, and it happens in restaurants, are roaches, the small variety about one inch long. Well, there were a couple on the floor and one was in the waffle area and another in the bagel enclosure. My wife smashed one on the floor in front of the attendant who we told all this about prior to the smashing and she made an attempt to do something. Well, I told the manager about it and shortly after I got back to our room he had the front desk person call me and she stated and I quote, "we investigated the bugs and found they were just raisins and crumbs". That was quite an insult to my intelligence! Of course I politely told her that we weren't crazy and we weren't after anything but we were just trying to be courteous as bugs can happen. Anyway.... Would I recommend it. Well, if you need to travel to downtown Philly, NO as it was a $4 toll every time you cross the bridge, but I couldn't find anything more affordable near the area (downtown Philly) that was affordable. But it was a room and a bed and it was clean as far as I could see, other than the roaches in the breakfast food! I guess we are "dumb" enough to go back and did so after several days in Maryland. Hey... it's a room. And we knew how to get our way around, find the place and could navigate around from this spot. John

US Airways gave me a voucher for this place since my flight was cancelled and I had to stay in the Philly area overnight. Frightening. This place is on the border of Camden NJ. Having arrived from the airport around midnight I asked if there was someplace I could get something to eat/drink. The clerk told me that walking the 1.5 blocks to the bar down the street would be dangerous. Hmmm...

My daughter stayed here with some friends for one night two weeks ago. She was charged $50 for one night - but then was hit with a $125 charge for a second night she didn't request or authorize (quite the price difference, don't you think?). They tried to tell her she had said she wanted to stay a second night, but weren't able to explain why she turned in the room keys if she planned to stay. Her bank said if the manager faxed them saying her money was being refunded, the bank would post it early. She called every day leaving messages for the manager, but no one called her back. Finally, today, she spoke with the manager who told her that no one had told him of the dispute or that she'd been calling. Plus, they had only refunded $97 of the $125 plus tax, so now she needs to wait another 10 days for the remainder; although the manager did agree to submit a fax to her bank to expedite that refund. She also said the room was the dirtiest room she'd ever stayed in with cigarette burns on the blankets, spread, rugs, even the walls. She says she'd rather stay in a "no tell motel" than stay in this place again.

While there is a good Indian restaurant inside the hotel, this is not a place you will want to stay. I have slept in many hostels throughout Europe, but never have I had a worse bed. It was noisy and the evening staff person was rude and incompetant. It appeared like the Days Inn up the road on 130 is a much nicer place to stay. Save your back, sanity, and money; sleep elsewhere!

This hotel was nothing less then unhealthy. Our first room smelled. The carpets seem to have never been cleaned. Our feet where black from walking on it. Our hairdryer caught fire. We had been moved with no assistance from the staff. The second room was just as bad. The carpet had large black stains. The bathroom ceiling was covered in water damage and mold. A maintanice worker whistle at me as I passed. This was unprofessional and very uncomfortable.We had planned to stay two nihgts but stayed ony one. We would not have if we had not been told we would still have to pay because of their cancellation policy. When we complained our night got worst. A grill was pulled out in front of our room and the air system pulled the smoke into it.Also a door kept being opened and slammed next to us all night. We slept with chairs in front of the doors. Well really we did not sleep at all.We left feeling sick and suffering from congestion. Don't take your family here. Its unsafe and unhealthy.
