Great Time!
By Jake's Mom, 5/23/12
We three girls had a wonderful time. We stayed in the Paradise Tower which is close to the front door & registration desk. The room was clean & decor was nice. The price was great as well. We pruchased a pkg. w/Allegiant Air. The Tropicana is at the end of the strip, short ride to the airport, Location didn't bother us since my 87 yr. old Mother didn't want to go out anyway. Vegas was her request for Mother's Day!! Well, we did go out for lunch down the strip to shop @ CVS & had a great lunch at the Outback. Four days of fun!!

TOTAL INCOMPTANCE
By AGNESS, 5/22/12
After over 40 years as a loyal custome, my reservations were cancled and I was made to feel like Harry Potter begging for a room under the stairs. After a 4+ hour flight from Chicago and my brother driving from New Mexico for 8 hours to meet us there, we find that we have no rooms. I called on the saturday before(4/15) to confirm our reservations and was told everything was fine. Upon arrival though, well that was a totally differant story. We were then told that the reservations for all but one of the rooms had been cancled but they could accomidate us only on the night of the 17th but not for the remainder of our scheduled visit. I felt a strong sence of betrayal and regret for puttiing my family, friends and yes myself through the humilation of this trip. I Strongly recomend that you reconsider if you are planing to stay at the Tropicana. They are not the same company they used to be and the customers don't seem to matter to them at all. I wish you the best of luck in your travels to Las Vegas and hope you don't have the same trouble with finding a room as I recently did.

BED BUGS, NOT as clean as it appears to be.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/11
I usually don't write reviews but I need to do it this time. We just got back from vegas 2 days ago and I learned that my 2 yr old baby got bed bugs bites on her stomach and leg. I'm so unhappy about it. I trusted the reviews and paid more to stay at Tropicana but it turned out I'm so disappointed. The staffs were nice on the phone, the room were spacious, the beds were adequately comfortable but that was about it, As soon as we got there, I checked the pillows and I found out 3 out of 8 pillows had dirt/hair on them. I called the front desk and house keeping brought me 2 pillow cases. Well, I brought some of my own so I used my pillow cases. Then the sink, I could see there were stain or finger print on the handle and the floor I could see dirt/stain. Not too much and it was too late so I let it go. On the way home my baby complained her stomach hurt. I had to check during rest time and learned of two red circles (about 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch) on her stomach and upper thigh (in a straight line) with a small white/yellowish bump in the middle of each. I have never seen this kind of rash in my life. So today I did my searched and learned that those were consistent with BED BUGS bites. My baby still complains of pain and discomfort even though the spots seem to get less red. I feel terrible for her. We were only at the hotel and the car, Of a couple dozens of hotels we have been to, we have never had bed bug bites. I'm so disappointed. And also I feel stupid. I though we paid more for the hotel to get comfort and cleaniness but we got the opposite. I want everyone to know so they can be aware. And be careful of the catch of the Trop Plus member "your first 200 bucks on us". We put in 220 total but the next morning we only saw 40 bucks back in our card (as opposed to 100 bucks that they were supposed to give us back). Anyway, We will never come back to Tropicana again. You guys do some research before booking hotels.

Fantastic service and great stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/11
We have gone to another hotel for years, but they recently changed hands and are just not to our tastes anymore. We decided to give the Trop a try and are sure glad we did, we will be returning there again soon (we do Vegas about 5-6 times a year). From the minute we walked in the door the experience was positive and fun. Easy check in, great service at the desk, everything was ready and waiting for us. Very nice room, super clean and well laid out, maids were thorough and efficient. Good variety of restaurants; Cafe Niki is great for breakfasts and light meals, sit out on the patio if the weather permits. Biscayne has FANTASTIC seafood, Bacio has great Italian, the risotto is heavenly, if you are really hungry go with the Prefix menu (one price, 3 courses plus wine) highly recommend the salmon & spinach, only complaint there is the hostess at the desk is snippy and has a bit of an attitude. There is a Starbucks for when you just have to have a caffeine fix. Good assortment of slots and table games, something for just about every play level and taste. Beautiful pool and grounds, amazing backgrounds for the wedding photos we saw being shot while we were there. We were lucky enough to see one of the last Gladys Knight shows, she is as amazing now as she was back in the Motown days. All in all a very great experience, we already have reservations to go back in December and are taking a large group of friends for the holidays.

Motel Quality
By Alex, 10/11/11
I heard that The Tropicana made renovations so we decided to give them a try for a fun/relaxing weekend. We made a two night reservation and stayed on the 9th floor. Not every room and floor is the same so I will state that we stayed in room 913. ISSUES: 1. This one is minor but worth mentioning- Stay in a room higher than the 9th floor if your window faces the strip. That is unless you like hearing people yelling and traffic noise throughout the night. 2. If your room has a connecting door to another room, expect to hear everything from your neighbor (conversations, phone calls, the TV, etc.). 3. Our room was all class, right down to the large exposed holes that the sprinklers jut out of. I took some great photos of them. 4. Want to recharge your phone? Good luck finding an open wall socket. The lamps have electrical sockets... that don't work. They had an iPhone charger on the clock but make sure you reserve time for that if there is more than one person staying in the room. Subtle conveniences found in motels should be available here at the Tropicana. 5. Disgusting bathroom vents. The vent was so nasty, I took a few photos of the dirt-filled vent above the toilet. There is no illusion of being a high class hotel at the Tropicana. Something easily resolved by -- what's the word I'm looking for-- cleaning. 6. Want to finish your stay with a painless check-out? I was about to express check out from the TV when I noticed that they double-charged me. I called the front desk and they resolved it but it was the icing on the cake. When I checked out, I let the person at the front desk know what I thought. He apologized for the poor service and quality of the room. RECOMMENDATION: Spend the extra $30 a night and stay someplace that is cleaner and will make you feel like a valued guest. I don't go to Vegas every month (I go about 3 times a year), so when I stay at a casino, I enjoy the illusion of staying at a higher quality/service hotel. It's part of the experience. Since I can't upload the photos here, I will have them up on my Google review.

Good Value for the $$$$
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/22/11
Over all had a good time we would return, younger crowd but we enjoyed our stay there. Staff was friendly and generally helpful. I wouldnt recommend kids or someone that was looking for a quite stay ( loud music and younger people) but a good value for the money. The pool was always open and there was enough furniture poolside for all.

This is no 3.5 star hotel.
By G, 7/29/11
Like; The bed was comfy, room was clean and comfortably laid out Dislike; The "Resort fee" of 10 bucks extra a day. Why not just make the price what it is.....do you feel the need to sell at one price just so you can get the booking and then add this ridiculous fee afterwards? Parking is either (PAY) Valet or "walk a freaking mile with your luggage". They only want to wear you down to pay the valet..... I tip everyone. Coffee girls, car wash etc ....everyone gets a tip. This hotel made, even a guy like me, feelthat they just wanted to service fee the hell out of you. For that reason, I didn't spend a dime on gambling or dinner there.....Just on principal. They lost more than they got. If I was the owner, I'd fire the manager for creating a negative vibe and losing us that kind of money.

Worst Experience Ever!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/13/11
Great location on the strip but thats about the only thing this hotel has going for them. The service was rude and horrible. They messed up our rooms to start off with and it went down hill from there. The host was the rudest of all. There were 9 of us and we gambled alot at that hotel. I am happy to say that none of us will ever step foot in that hotel again. We didn't get our suites like we were supposed to, my sister had ants in her room, they didn't comp us like they were supposed to until the very last day. Direct words from the host.. "If i comp your food will you just go away and leave me alone?" and then when my sister told the host about the ants the host said... "Did you bring those ants from Indiana with you?"... Thats ridiculous! No one should be treated like that. They were just down right rude and nasty!

Place was spectacular!
By Raphael, 7/5/11
The hotel is great! My room was amazingly clean and the service was friendly. I just had to call once just in case I had any problems. I love where it's located! We can get to many places easily. Maybe to you people who have "cleanliness" problems, you are probably one of those "very high expectations" type of people, or you just need to pay a little more to get an awesome room. The bathroom was unbelievably clean and tidy for a hotels. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They made sure I was comfortable, and they helped me whenever possible. The only little problem is that some things are a little overpriced, but that's really only it. I could have slept on my rooms floor without a problem. It wasn't dirty at all. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel, and I'm hoping I can go back to it soon.
