200 reviews for Tropicana Resort and Casino, Las Vegas
Excellent Time!
By WalterL, 10/19/09
I stayed at the Tropicana last month and found that it was very nice. The staff was extremely friendly and couldn’t have done enough. I was hesitant at first to go there after reading some of the reviews, but was glad I chose to go. The price was very reasonable and the service was excellent. The food was excellent too. The buffet for that price was phenomenal. I noticed that they are putting in mass changes and upgrades into this hotel. I feel by next year this hotel will be even better. The location of the hotel is excellent, being right on the strip. There are many other hotels next door to visit. I highly recommend this hotel. You will definitely enjoy your stay there and I will be going back there soon.

For the price was just fine
By Dave B, 10/12/09
The people that complain forgot the room was 39.00 a night not 150.00 so give me a break. There were doing some remodeling while we were there. The rooms were a little out dated but clean. The pool was good. We just got back and had a nice time and would stay there again. Again this is not The Paris but I didnt have to pay 200 dollars a night either for a place you went into around 1 am fell asleep and got up at 10 and left it. It not like you spend a ton of time in the room.

Tropican Hotel...OLD, DIRTY... Won't Stay Again!
By M, 10/05/09
Our Vegas stay was cool...BUT... the Tropicana Hotel was just NASTY! A lot of things to list. A few are... Carpets are so old they are bubbling up...Ripples in hallway carpets. The bathroom in our room... chips out of mirror...VISIBLE HAIR CLOG in bathtub drain! YUCK!! Bathtub stopper broken. Hole in bathtub. We had requested a room with TWO beds. We got a room with ONE bed and ONE VERY SMALL and VERY uncomfortable sofa bed. In the arcade next to the pool was a pair of dirty underwear just laying on the floor! Will NOT stay at the Tropicana again! NATY NASTY NASTY! Oh.... and the customer service was virtually non-existent. The front desk rep had the personality of a flea! Housekeeping didn't clean our room until about 6:00 in the EVENING! HOWEVER...when we called down to housekeeping for an extra pillow and blanket, they were very prompt.

RUNDOWN CLASSIC
By , 10/02/09
well i also saw the reviews 4 this hotel but i think the trop is better than even i gave it credit for yes it is thread bare, old and downright creepy in some cases however i m o they try harder than the sahara on the other end of the strip and while i agree w/ the imploding &rebuilding i will miss this place a bit! it was a taste of old vegas O.K NOW THE SKINNY because this place has expanded many times the layout in not good we stayed in a tower room very nice staff helpful but like always in vegas and more so at some properties everything is miles away( as in a long walk from a to b) room was a bit thread bare but clean w/ big tub and mirror ceiling and that signature out dated tiki bamboo furniture (ALMOST RETRO SHEIK) ALWAYS A good time at the COMEDY STOP look4 coupon THE FOOD was not impressed w/ the food not bad at the cafe but over priced i would eat elsewhere but that is easy 2 do because of a gr8 location NICE POOL GOOD ACTION AND ONE OF THE FEW CASINOS WHERE YOU CAN STILL GET A BALCONY ROOM too bad the view sucks in most of those units BUT STILL A BALCONY IS SO COOL UNLESS YOU HAVE JUST BET& LOST THE FARM guess thats why they are out of style! still one of the better value casinos in vegas oh well going bac 2 vegas staying at the i. p. (10/09) the other casino w/ a balcony will let yall know wasup yeah i heard all the bad reviews BUT THATS WHY I AM THE VEGAS VALUE KING going where you might not want to in vegas since 91 seeya

Great time and a great deal.
By Cadwallader, 09/13/09
I have to wonder about some of the complaints I see in reviews of Las Vegas Hotels. You'd think that the reviewers must go to Vegas to sit in their hotel rooms. I spent a couple of days at the Tropicana, and they were great. The woman at the front desk was friendly and efficient, had me checked in lightning fast. I stayed in the Island Tower. I chose the Tropicana because on a last minute trip they had open rooms at a great price. The only thing I wish they would do is put small refrigerators in the room. That way one could keep drinks etc cold without having to shuffle down the hallway for ice. The Tropicana has a great location. You're across the street from the MGM, NY NY and the Excalibur. You can hop on the monorail at the MGM to tool farther up the strip or just hoof it. Hit the breakfast buffet and dinner buffet at the Trop (did the same at a couple of other casinos). The food was fine, it was great. How can people complain about all you can eat when the food is fresh? Stop being snobs and cut loose, enjoy yourselves. I'll definitely stay there again.

Lot of fun.
By John, 09/03/09
This was our first stay at the Tropicana, the staff was friendly, the guest were friendly, dealers were fun and spoke english, grate pool and strip view, our room was clean, good food except for the $.99 shrimp cocktail, fast falet parking, nice pool and with grass, good shade, plenty of chairs with good service, the pool bartenders seamed board and a bit rude,Gary at the sports bar is a pro, the Tropicana has a old Vegas feel and most of the original hotel is still there. Hotel needs updating, but a grate place to stay. Such a deal...We are going back...

Awesome for price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/27/09
The Tropicana is a great hotel for the price. It is older, yet gives you just what the average traveler needs. I love the size of this place, because you dont have to walk 2000 miles from your room to the casino/ pool/ car. Just remember people, you are not aying for a bellagio room. This hotel was built in 1957, so expect average yet very decent rooms. Just a little tip, DO NOT get stuck with a garden room, pay the extra $5 and get a tower room.

Wonderful trip!
By Allan and Ana, 08/17/09
We spent the weekend at the Tropicana from August 14th - 16th and had a fantastic time. The following are the highlights: - Easy check-in - Great location - we did not touch our car all weekend - valet was free and easy - Room was attractive and very clean - Staff was friendly - We received free show tickets after playing Craps for a while - the hypnotism show was excellent - Pool was excellent, and the adult pool and jaquzzi were open all night - Buffet was well-priced with excellent food - Players Club got us money back quickly We will be back soon!

Dont go
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/09
The Tropicana is only good if you want to gamble and sleep. But the rooms are average but the rooms smell damp. The only decent thing is the pool. The food is overpriced and greasy and the hotel looks like its from an old horror movie

FOOD POISONING at Soprano's Diner Show
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/10/09
Very poor for $70 pp you get penne with sauce, salad, and cheese cake. I became violently ill after attending and was sick throughout the majority of my vacation. I jumped through all management's hoops to get a refund. I talked to the risk manager Heather Kats and she was too busy moving her office to listen to and help with my problem or give a refund. It's been several weeks and no response from anyone there. According to the locals that I talked to it is a very common occurance at the Tropicana for people to get very sick and not be treated properly. These types of businesses should be going bankrupt and rightfully so.
