1st Trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/22/10
The hotel is older but the rooms had been recently renovated and had the european style beding very comfortable. The staff at the property waas very friendly and the prices for meals and beer were perfect. Tirzah at Fuzio made my trip she made excellant Martinis and served me a wonderful Filet Mignon dinner $8.95..cha ching. Not being a gambler I took advantage of the .99 cent bottled beer and did alot of people watching. It is centered downtown and walking distance to everything...

I now know why they call it Terribles.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/23/10
Sands sucks. If you want blackjack dealers with attitudes, go to the Sands. If you want to see a casino SWEAT money and is all about the bottom line, then you would enjoy the Sands. Always watch your back in there, as they let a lot of homeless hang around and get drunk on 0.99 beers. Can't feel safe as most of the security appears to be over the age of 70.

Good Quality 3 times in a row!
By Thomas, 8/6/10
I've gone here three times and everytime my stay was good. The room was clean and organized. The decorations were good. It was like a Best Western room. The towels could be better. Stay away from the restaurants, none of them are good. Go to the Eldorado of Silver Legacy for good food.

Great place and outstanding staff.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/30/10
I stayed there for the first time. After reading the reviews I was not sure I wanted to stay here. I WAS WRONG! This was a GREAT place to stay for the money. I got the "Bowlers rate". They did everything right. The staff was so friendly and helpful. This is an older hotel but is was real clean. I saw staff at all hours cleaning. Great food and Drinks. I will stay here again. Next year I will be bringing out 10 more people and we all will stay here. Free shuttle to the airport and bowling stadium. Yes it is a little off the main drag, no big deal. the rooms are a little old but real clean. they were there everyday cleaning. I even saw them cleaning the room carpets. They are doing lots to improve and clean. The beds were new and comfortable. It is a smaller casino but very nice. The food also was good. The buffet was small but the food was good. Fuzios was a great place to eat and drink. All in all it was a fun and good place to stay for the price. They offered some specials if you were a bowler.

OK for the price.
By Dan The Man, 12/28/09
Older Hotel,. Beds are a bit uncomfortable but the room is fine. The buffet is really low class. Everything else is fine for the price.

Not all bad...
By Laurie, 9/29/09
We checked in on A Friday night, not too bad! The hotel and casiono seemed to be clean. The room was very generic. Our king bed was probably 2 feet from the ground, hard as a rock and had visable springs poking out! There are three pillows on a king bed, one pillow felt like it was a blanket wrapped up in a pillow case. And best of all...our shower didn't drain properly!! We were on the 8th floor, it shouldn't have had plumbing problems at that level. No microwave, fridge or iron in the room. Checkout was a mess, we were supposed to have a discounted rate...paid full price! Overall, if your looking to save money and need little ammenities, this might be the hotel for you...if not...shop around before making final reservations!

Street Vibrations, 2009
By JoR, 9/28/09
We stayed at the Sands for the second time during Street Vibrations. This hotel caters to bikes. They blocked off the entire parking lot for us, offer a 24-hr guard, Beer Garden, Live Music, and wet-tee shirt contests. We liked the idea of parking our bikes and walking to the down-town events because we could drink and not worry about driving. The view of the city is nice and bikes is impressive, but I preferred my view of the mountains.
