Decent Rooms, Poor Service

Our first impression of this place was a very accurate foreshadowing of our stay to come. As soon as we arrived, the people at the check-in desk were extremely rude, and it took them about 30 minutes to check us in. We got to the rooms and they were decent (pretty spacious, the basic amenities), however are certain things to complain about. The DVD player was in the bedroom, and when I tried moving it to the living room, I realized it was bolted to the TV Set. I think the most disturbing part of our stay was the plethora of unreasonable rules. First of all, the main recreation room (pool table, foosball table, big screen TV) and the main workout room have operating hours from 10am to 10pm. I was expecting these to be loosely enforced and wanted to play pool at 10:15. THEY LOCK THE DOORS so no one can use the room after 10PM. I decided that i could go into the outdoor jaccoozi instead, only to find out that the jaccoozi gate is locked from 10pm to 10am! I would have gone in anyway if there was not a guard patrolling the premises and enforcing these rules. To top it all off, (even though i am not a smoker) they have extremely strict smoking policies. This means, that even outside of the building (in the parking lot or in the gardens) they will fine you 300 dollars for smoking. I witnessed someone get in trouble for smoking in the parking lot and almost receive that 300 dollar fine. The location was good and the rooms are pretty well equpped (towels, plates, silverware, coffee) however the service is extremely lacking. If you plan on falling asleep by 10 pm every single night and have no problem dealing with a rude concierge then you would have no problem staying here. Otherwise, I would avoid this place for the many other hotels in the area.
