Place Station, Las Vegas

I would not stay at the Place Station ever again. They hit you with a hidden resort fee. The room was in the court yard 1600`s. They have the maint and garbage back there ,Lots of noise, can`t get any sleep. Maui

Paid $16.79 ($14.99 service fee +tax) even I never used any service like shuttle, gym, copy room, notary and other services. After service fee, it is very overpriced, with this price, I would live at a much beeter hotel.

First of all the Hotel rate of $20 a night for two people, Was not what we got when we got there and that was Not how Las Vegas.com advertised on there website. The website showed the Newly Remodeled Tower Rooms for that Price so I booked it. Then when my Mom and I showed up we were then informed that, that was not the room for that price. We were mislead and our room would be in the old bet up section of the hotel were the shipping and workers work and park I was not having that again, cause for Christmas that was where they suck us in 2009. So I had to pay an additional $30 per night to stay in the Tower section. I showed them my print out of my room that I'd paid for already but the Lady would not listen or look at the document I brought with me. The room it self was fine once you got past how smoky(In theTowers) the room was. I am a smoker, but I could not stand the smokey smell. This room had never ever been washed with any water at all or that room would NOT have smelled that DAMN BAD. My nosed burned the whole three days we were there. Lets not talk about those fees they come up with They charged me $100 to use the pool, work-out room saunas people it was WINTER who in their right mind would be using the pool and all of that in DECEMBER its Christmas it was soooo cool up there, also bell boys room svc was included and I did not use any of these services, BUT was charged anyway, so I had to call them to get it back in my account. Place Station will not see me again I will go back to the El Cortez Hotel. It maybe more for the elderly then the younger people but you get what you pay for and you know it going in up front...Jackie Ganns here I come I coming back to your Hotel..

The room and hotel casino are fine, but when your shopping for a room and they throw out a $20 rate you jump on it thinking that's close to what your paying. Not so, I booked it and found out afterwards about the "fee" and the room ended up costing almost double that. Very Shady and I'll let them know what I think of their deception. Some people might say why am I complaining about a $40 room, well it's a combination of the things, truth in advertising, the economy and just being up front and honest with your customers. $14 x the number of guests per year = ALOT of money for nothing. Don't just accept things like this, let them know you won't take it! Amenities are any tangible or intangible benefits of a property, especially those that increase its attractiveness or value or that contribute to its comfort or convenience. Some things like this and charging me $50 for my suitcase on a plane are wrong! Let them get away with it and see what they charge extra for next year.

the hotel was fine BUT I did not like that the $14.99 mandatory daily resort fee is thrown in with 17 other hotel details. It is not clearly visible unless you know about these type of fees and are looking for it. I know most hotels are charging these rates now but they should be included with the room rate so you know exactly how much you are paying. I feel they are not being forthright.

My room was nice, itself, and clean and good sized. No view to speak of, was right next to some sort of staff break area or something. Internet didn't work. Food at the Buffet was delicious. Make sure you get the coupon for the free breakfast at check in, or you'll have to go back for it. Pain in the neck. Good dinner too! I'd stay here again!

My husband and I stayed the week of July 20th, 2009. We went to Vegas for our 37th wedding anniversary... We DID enjoy an excellent dinner in the steakhouse the first evening we were there, our acutual anniversary, and staff brought us a cheesecake slice with a candle. It was lovely. The salmon and steak were truly excellent. The staff in that restaurant were friendly and just great.. BUT then, it was all downthill. Our newly remodeled tower suite (and it was a lovely room), had a BIG COCKROACH crawling around in the middle of the room at 11 in the morning broad daylight, the next day. The staff said "It was just a little waterbug. They come in all the time from the pool". They moved us to a new room and told us we would be "comped" for the room. However,at check out, a surly employee was not helpful . We had spoken with a manger when we switched rooms, Theresa, who has indicated we would be comped for the room. The hotel clerk would not get the manger for us "She was in a meeting". When we got home, they had charged us for the room on our Visa, (That is ilegal, we did not agree to the charge OR sign for the bill). The coffee shop was horrible service, surley employees...pool was marginal with a lot of dead "waterbugs" . Exercise room was musty. Older hotel in the bag of teh room with economy rooms looks like a slum. Sincerely, I know a cockroach when I see one, and the place is crawling. with them... NEVER will go back. There are SO many nice places in Vegas to stay.., DO NOT STAY HERE! (We managed to have a good time anyway, left the hotel and went to the strip and downtown, other casinos...It was memorable. I have change the name of this place in my mind and our stories to " COCKROACH INN."

I booked hotel for 5nights. But canceled after 1night stay there. I found it is unorganized and Manager is not responding well. Room is not clean and carpet is very very dirty. No Elevator. Room service never response. Very small room. Nobody care about service. No one resolve the problem. I felt sick there. Hidden Charges. I DO NOT LIKE this hotel and never book in future also. Bad Service. No Cleanliness. Never value to Customers. I got better hotel in same price after came out.

After reading several reviews I was a little worried about going to and staying at the Palace Station for a conference May 30- June 5Th 2009. Got there really late and come to find out that the call in center had lost one of the two room reservations. (Staff there stated their call in center sucks). Was given two rooms in the older part of the hotel, forget what exactly they call it. The rooms were average. The bathrooms were clean, but with only a stand up shower no tub. Could have survived the week with no problems but figured lets see what a little complaining does. Was up graded to the tower section of the Palace. Was shocked to walk into the room. Very neat and clean. Big screen TV and soft comfortable bed. Enjoyed the remaining 5 nights there and would go back. The casino is a little dated and small compared to others but found that the Video Poker slots paid well. Tables could be played at $5.00 any time of day. Any one who complains about smoke in the Casino will not be happy, but I live in CT and go to the Mohegan Sun often and the smoke there is the same, so don't blame Palace Station. Ate at a couple of their restaurants. The Chinese restaurant was actually pretty good. The buffet was average and the 24hours restaurant was alright. The Oyster bar which I never ate at has a line whenever it is open so it must be pretty good. There is an Irish Pub with decent atmosphere and the bake goods looked awesome at the bakery but never had any. My first stay in Vegas was at the Orleans which I thought wasn't bad but now after staying at the Palace Station I would have a hard time choosing between the two. It is certainly no Paris but it was a fun time and was pleasantly surprised.

Stayed at this place with a group of friends and got great value for money (something like $30per room for 2 nights, including all surcharges) and we were all (I am 1 of 6 extremely fussy girls) pleased by rooms bearing in my mind how much we paid for the rooms. Service was beyond 3* and the staff at the service desks took their time in explaining where to go and what to do. Having stayed a various hotels on the West Coast, we found the staff at this place the most hlepful, friendly and understanding to our group. On the negative side, the toilet in one of our rooms got blocked and it took a while to get fixed which is why I rated the palace low on cleanliness.
