Comfortable Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/08
We rented a 2 bedroom 2 bath with a loft in Feb.of 2008. 6 of us in the room. Our room had current & clean furnishings. Kitchen was ample stocked with all goodies needed to cook. The only 3 issues we had was asking that they deice the walkway. After several requests they "got around to it" and about 6 of the electrical plugs did not work and were taped over as well as the TV in the loft bedroom did not work (again not sure if it sas the tv or electrical outlet. The shuttle is great and drivers gave some great recommendations on local restaurants, well worth tipping!!! Overall we had a great experience here. If and when given the chance we would return.

1975 Townhome-Horrible stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/02/08
My family just returned from our HORRIBLE stay at Lakeland Village. We rented a 4 bedroom townhome. We had several problems: carpet was filthy, it appeared that it had not been cleaned since it was installed. The carpet had holes in it as well. It was furnished with 1975 Motel 6 furniture. The refrig was broken. The curtains had stains all over and not cleaned. The couch had no cushion, when you sat you sank to the ground. The townhome could not sit my family of 8. Some had to sit on the floor. The table only had 5 seats. This was the SECOND unit that they moved us to. The first townhome the bathrooms were not clean. Hairs were everywhere. Do not stay in unit 515 or 403.

Great place to stay!
By Scott, 08/12/07
We stayed in the lodge portion of the resort. We had a 1 bedroom (King size bed)Full bath, with a loft(Queen sized bed) 1/2 bath in loft. Kitchen was set-up nicely with a small refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher, etc... Fully stocked with plates, glasses, utensils, coffee maker, toaster, even a blender. Silverware and even a corkscrew. It was missing nothing. The accomodations in the room were fantastic. You won't need anything else. TV has complimentary HBO along with basic cable. ( 2 TV's). Nice patio off of the living room or bedroom. The front desk help was extraordinary! Phyllis was extrememly helpful with any questions we had about the room or activities. We scheduled a paddle boat ride through them and it was great. The condos have 2 heated pools and 2 heated jacuzzis. They can get a little crowded, but wait a few and they clear out. The location has beach access which allows you to get to the lake with just a short walk. They rent kayaks right there. Eat at Heidi's right next door for breakfast or lunch (closed for dinner), it is excellent food, reasonably priced with huge portions, MMMMM, real good! For dinner we recommend Fat City. This place makes great pizzas, you won't find a better pizza in the Lake Tahoe area. The menu has an extensive selection of different food fare. You won't be disappointed with Fat City! They even deliver to the condo. Ask for Donny, he's the Manager. Activities are great in the area. Rent bikes and cruise around the Camp Richardson areas, great easy trails. $9.00/Hr. Adults $6.00/Hr. kids. Rent a kayak at Zephyr Cove and explore the coastline. $15.00 single /30 min.- $20.00 single /1Hr. Ride one of the old fashioned paddle boats to Emerald Bay. $30.00-$40.00 per person depending on which trip you take. Great view of the lake if you don't have a boat. Lake side Inn has a nice restaurant, good food pretty reasonably priced. Casino is pretty low key. The locals supposedly hang out here. Nice atmosphere. The Buffet at Harrahs is overratted. Too expensive, too crowded, no rhyme or reason for lines to get food. I would rather eat a Golden Corral Buffet (Arizona has them) or something like that instead of Harrahs buffet. Save your money and eat at Lakeside Inn or Fat City. The casinos were pretty tight and we didn't see many people hitting anything. Probably better off saving your money for a jet ski rental or quad tour, you'll have more fun. All in all the Lakeland lodge is a good place to stay in South Tahoe. If we go back to the area we would definitely stay there again!

Great Location and service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/24/07
Can't beat the location on the beach and a wide variety of units to choose from. From condo type units in a 3 story "hotel" to 5 bedroom units on the beach. I liked the value and location of the townhouse units in the trees. Petty quiet during the week and busier on the weekend. Full kitchens, good beds (triple sheets), a real woodburning fireplace, DVD players, and an entry storage area for bikes and beach stuff (not all units have these). Every unit looks different inside as they are privately owned and decorated with various tastes. Free shuttles provided by the resort is great. Walk to stores and resturants, great beach and pier. I was told they have good ski packages and free breakfast in the winter. Very nice staff and good kid stuff.

Treated like a vagrant
By Chris, 08/12/06
My stay took place over a long weekend in July 2006. I have never complained at any establishment I have ever been a guest at prior to Lakeland. That being said, I have been treated kinder in 3rd world countries in $18/night accommodations. Seriously. My room at Lakeland was $250/night. I literally was filling out a complaint card within 10 minutes of my arrival. The staff (with a couple of exceptions) is extremely inattentive, unhelpful, unknowledgeable, unwilling to accommodate, and just plain rude. From the first minute I arrived, I was treated like a vagrant asking to use their private restroom. Apparently it is "resort" policy to say, "No" as often as possible and act as though every guest request is above and beyond ludicrous. I had to argue just to get directions to the airport and the ice machine. Cheap, poly blend, green stripe beach towels are also their most prized possession and you are treated like a felon should you want to use one. That being said, the location on the lake is fantastic. The beach is private, narrow and a bit crowded, but still a great beach in the area. The rooms need a serious update (totally 80's) but they are clean and comfortable. Just be prepared for a lot of children at the "resort."

We're planning our next trip already!
By Dawn, 02/18/06
Loved the hotel. The service was fantastic as the staff were very helpful with advice and the free shuttle was great (saves a lot of money on cab fair to and from skiing, eating, and gambling and there's no need to rent a car if you take the airport shuttle from Reno). The hotel was not accessable to the casinos without a long walk but this was not a problem with the shuttle. There were restaurants and shops accessable with a short walk (a couple of blocks). Also, the on-site ski rental shop was a plus... very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable but smaller than expected. While this was the case, it was still a great value and was sufficient for our needs. The kitchen was fully stocked, including a dishwasher, blender, and all types of cookware and also included complimentary dishwasher detergent and other related items. One thing to remember is that the "indoor" hottub is actually enclosed on three sides and has a roof but is a three to five minute walk from the hotel area (it's down by the condos) which is a long cold walk in the winter. Also, this would be a great place for a group meeting or vacation as there are condo for larger groups and private meeting rooms which can be used for happy hours, conferences, or other types of gatherings. All in all we found this to be a great place and value and we'll definetely be back in the near future!

Very good value; comfortable family/group resort.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/05
We have been staying at the Lakeland Village for the past 10 years. We have been there in the summer as well as the winter. The last time was February 2005. The place is very conveniently located, close to shopping, skiing, and casinos. The rooms are large, well maintained, and pleasant. The kitchen is large enough to cook for a family, and the living room has a fire place, and a TV with DVD and VCR attached. I have never had a bad experience at Lakeland Village. I would definitely recommend it.

Nice place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/27/05
Nice comfortable room for the money. Staff was very pleasant and informative. We stayed in a small unit in the hotel part. Very clean, no noise from other units. Would stay there again. If looking for a clean, cost efficient place to stay, this would be it.
