Carol Hotel Omaha, Omaha

When we checked in we found out the phone didnt work, the toilet didnt work and the heater in the room did not work very good at all. They did not offer another room and we had to deal with all the issues. They also advertised wireless internet but then told me the internet didnt reach to the 5th floor. All around let down and will not return.

This hotel was in prime location to easily access all the "hot spots" in Omaha; mall, downtown, Old Market. Target was right across the street as well as Wal-Mart, convenient for us since we were in town to complete bridal registries We wanted something affordable but with a pool for our 5 yr old daughter. We found out upon check in that the hotel was host to many high school swim & diving teams - even our hometown was staying at the Carol. The hotel planned well, we did not have any problems with noise and we were next door to the pool and elevator. Also, the breakfast was good, lots of variety and the breakfast attendant was constantly working to keep things stocked for all the teenage appetites, I was very impressed. We will definitely look for future deals and stay here again.

stayed there the night of October 17th, 2011 and woke up the next morning to find my car window smashed and all of my suitcases gone. Omaha Police Report # Z 32141. I parked about 50 feet from the front door, just around the corner by a side entrance. The only thing the front desk offered was the number for the Police Dept. It was raining and they didn't even have a spare trash bag to give me to cover the broken window. When I asked for a piece of paper to write a witness statement, they tore off half a page. They didn't have any surveilance cameras which would have helped a lot. As someone else stated, the breakfast is horrible and exactly as they described. I will never stay in Omaha again and will in fact avoid Nebraska altogether.

I had read reviews online about how surprisingly nice and clean the hotel was for the price (which was very low), so I booked online. When I got into the room it smelled funny, was very hot and muggy, and pretty dirty. The blanket had something crusty and orange on it so I asked for another, which, when it arrived, was covered in cat hair and smelled bad. I was willing to forego the blanket, but when I went to get something from my car I walked past an enormous (about 2.5 inch long) cockroach on the wall in the hallway (in the daylight!). The people working the front desk didn't seem surprised, and allowed me to check out and only pay a $10 cleaning fee (since I'd taken a shower). The place made my skin crawl! :(

Hotel condition is just okay - it is run-down but clean. Hot tub wasn't working at and the pool was freezing. Manager was very rude when my mom complained and told her to go stay somewhere else.

Well, I guess for the money it was ok. beds felt great. very quiet. clean room. The pool area was ok. It as a baby pool which is great. That water was a bit cooler then my daughter liked but still nice to know she was able to go in a pool just her size. They did have a "hot" tub but it was really more like a really warm bath. My 1 year old loved it! That is where she spent most of her time. As for in the morning and breakfast.. that was a bit of a disappointment to us... they did have bagels, cereal, bread, Cinnamon rolls, coffee, OJ. I asked the guy about getting some eggs and he said that was all there would be until the renovations were done. ( I did not see any - Maybe in the rooms? ) I guess for the price, you cant beat it. The location is great... There is everything you can think of across the street. We did have a frig in our room, so we went to the store and got some snacks to put in it. OH, we did rent a port- a- crib, when it came it was nice.... Our two year old was just about out grown it from head to toe... Something to think about. It is not a standard size crib... It was more like the size of a small pack and play.

Recently we stayed at your hotel. From looking at the pictures and staying there, there is quite a difference. First of all the hotel was filthy, smelly, and a lot of things did not work. My mother had a handicaped room and her phone did not work, hmmmm handicapped means may need assistance, how on earth would she call 911 if she needed assistance? The coffee maker did not work in either rooms. My room was dirty, there was ice cream in the freezer from a previous guest, a grocery list in the drawer along with someones crayons. Other family members complained of the same if not more problems. The pool area was also very dirty. The first day we were there, there was not breakfast, only cold cereal and stale rolls. On one occiasion someone from the staff entered my room at 10 pm with an excuse that he needed to see if we had an iron. Why on earth would you need an iron at 10 pm I will never know. My husband was in there resting, I was out, and they woke him up too. We repeatedly had to go to the front desk because our room keys would have to be reporgramed, because our doors would not open. My mother requested an adjoining room with my sisters and they told her there were not adjoining room, yet my daughter stayed in the room next to my mother and it was an adjoining room with my mothers. Yet another hmmmmmm. The ice machines rarely worked. The carpets in two of the rooms that I know of were wet, why we do not know. A lot of the outlets did not work, can we say fire hazard. Light did not work, or did not have working bulbs, and some of the plastic shades on them were melted with holes in the middle of them. I for one will never in this lifetime ever spend another night in this hotel, as well as my family members. We were there for 4 days over the 4th of July and spent a lot of money on the hotel, renting at least 10 rooms and spent a lot of money in the area also. Very dissappointing.

For the price, we had no complaints. The room and hotel lobby was clean and looked like some updating had recently been done. We did not eat the breakfast during our stay. We thought this was a good value. Don't come expecting a 4 star facility and I think you will be happy. Very easy to see from the interstate so it was easy to find.

I've stayed here twice...once in January for the concert, and then again at the beginning of september for foot ball game. The hotel was big enough with sufficient free parking space and everything was functional. I agree that the furnishings in the rooms do need to be renovated, but it's all still functional and really isn't a big deal for the price they offer you. The beds were really comfortable, and the bathroom does what it needs to. I love the atrium at the hotel. When we were there in January, it was bloody cold outside, so it pretty cool to get in the hotel and see trees and plants that weren't snow covered. I haven't woken up in time for breakfast, but I imagine that they are nice additions to any ones stay. The staffs at the hotel are friendly and helpful while check-in and out is very efficient. There were many restaurants in an around area and the stay was definitely comfortable. In all I will stay here again.
