avoid at all costs!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/08/08
the relatively cheaper rate does NOT make it worth it to stay at the downtown Omaha "Econolodge", the whole place is quite dirty and run down, which would be OK if the room was nice... but the heater in the room smelled like someone threw up in it, which sucked because it was cold out (30 degrees) so rather than puke ourselves from the smell we had to try to keep warm all night... an ad for the hotel had bragged about a continental breakfast with belgian waffles but what a joke, it was cheap frozen waffles, and most of the food was gone and not restocked during what was supposedly a 6-9:30 am window of time for breakfast-- and we also noticed the hotel staff was eating up the last of the food at around 8 am! near the front desk there's 1 computer with "free internet access", while using it for a few minutes to look up something the desk clerk was reprimanding an employee right in front of us, very loudly, but it had to be loud to be heard over the deafening lobby TV's volume-- we didn't feel like guests but rather like we were imposing on their everyday business, the business including reprimanding employees for not working hard enough... the p.m. desk clerk was very nice and recommended a place to eat, we just wanted something simple like a hamburger and we were referred to a place called Sullivan's-- it turns out they didn't even have hamburgers on their menu, rather expensive (avg. $30) steak and seafood meals, and we found out from the staff at Sullivan's that the hotel gets a kickback for referring people there! overall we were very disappointed and disgusted with this hotel, we recommend staying in your vehicle if that's the only option besides this place

Don't stay here !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/20/08
I have stayed here for 20 years because it is close to my sisters house. The past 8 yrs or so, it has deteriorated badly. It's dirty, shabby, and the clientele has changed to construction workers mostly. I also think I acquired head lice my last stay in Aug 08 for 3 nights. That was the last straw, and I will never stay there again.

stayed for hospital
By tony, 01/23/08
The people who run it were very nice to us. We had to stay for the hospital. They gave us a discounted rate for the hospital. We have been going once a month and we get to go back to the same room each time. They have made our stay less stressfull for us with all that we have been going threw. Thanks.

Arbitrary rate changes
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/07
Watch out for rate changes! I called for a quote on a Tuesday, received $59.99 for a single bed, one adult. Made reservation next day, was quoted $74.99 and told that was the only price (there were none at the previously quoted price). I made the reservation anyway, but called back a couple hours later after stewing about it, and called for another quote. Initially, I got the $59.99 again without being date specific as with the previous two calls. But once I gave the dates, the price was increased to $74.99 (though it was the lower price the day before for the same dates). After further questioning I found out that the hotel had discovered there was a convention nearby at the Qwest Center (I had actually informed them of this), and they raised the rates in anticipation of having the place filled up. I made a fuss about this, since the increase had been between the calls on consecutive day. THEN I was informed that there was a manager's special at that time for $64.99. I took it since it was a $10 reduction, yet the "manager's special" was, in reality, a $5 increase over the previous day. CALL MORE THAN ONCE BEFORE MAKING A RESERVATION...THEN INSIST ON THE LOWER PRICE!!!
