Americas Best Inns Brookhaven, Brookhaven

Upon entering our room it appeared clean, went to go to bed & there was a very large live bug crawling around the pillow. And just up from it were legs from previous dead bugs in this bed. Went to the office & complained, had to show them pictures I took as they knew nothing of bugs. We were moved to a different room & were told "we have to realize these are outside hotels". 2nd room had clean beds but dead bugs along the baseboards under the desk, someones earplug under the edge of the airconditioner, and long dark hairs plastered on the shower wall along with the toilet & shower seal were bad & leaking when flushed/shower was on. Looked under the bed & found batteries & empty pop bottles etc. I have traveled all over the US my whole life & stayed in many "outside rooms" & I have never in 26 years come in contact with a more discusting hotel room in my life. We only stayed here because they accepted pets. I'd say to anyone, don't stay here, Super 8 also takes pets, go down the road. It might even be cheaper then the $70 I paid for this bug infested room. If not cheaper, a clean room is worth the money. I wouldn't even let stray animals stay in this hotel.

We needed to spend 1 night in Brookhaven, MS and we chose this hotel because of the star rating. This was the most miserable night of my life. The bedspread was dirty as well as the bathtub. I called to the front desk and the clerk gave me a clean bedspread. Once I got ready to shower and call it a night, I noticed how dirty the bathtub was. I once again called the front desk and the clerk offered me a different room. I chose to go and look at the room first, the bathtub in the new room was dirty too. I thought, this is ridiculos. I asked for a refund. The clerk called her supervisor to the front and the supervisor refused to give me a refund. She said that I would have to check out and go back the next morning to speak with the manager. I did not check out at that time, but as the night grew older I told my husband that I coudn't stand it anymore. It was unbearable. I walked over to the office to turn in the keycard and no one answered the bell. I left the keycard and went to the next hotel which was Comfort Inn - much cleaner and very spacious. If I have to stay in Brookhaven, MS again...it will be at the Comfort Inn.
