Arrowwood Resort By Clubhouse, Alexandria

It was my first time at the resort and I expected so much more. Our room was dirty and much smaller than anticipated. We booked over the phone and the reservationist said it would be plenty of room. The extra bedroom area (as they called it) qualified as more of a nook where the bunk beds fit in. Not comfortable at all for the kids. The carpet was dirty in the entire hotel but in the room especially. The TV's had terrible reception. The pool and slides were not worth getting wristbands for. The hot tub was maybe a couple of degrees warmer than the pool. Just so disappointing since I had heard about the resort so many times before. I would never have expected it to be as expensive as it was for the condition of the resort. If it would have cost half the price, maybe then I would have expected it.

Our family was there for New Years 2008. We generally like the place and have a good time there except this year their inflatable slide collapsed. Our daughter was one of those at the top when it collapsed. Luckily she survived unharmed - the same can not be said for the other 3 people that were also on top. The slide had not been tied down properly and no attendant had been in the room. All 4 people went to the hospital emergency room. We were told by the manager that they would take care of the medical bills. Arrowwood Resort has refused to pay any of the medical bills - even of those who were more seriously injured! Even those of the emergency room on that day! MINNESOTA IS FULL OF GREAT RESORTS - PICK ANOTHER ONE. You do not want to put your family's safety into their hands.

I like that the food was good and that the staff were friendly. One thing that the hotel is looking run down some areas were noticeable by paint peeling and a few other issues. This was our second time there and things seemed to improve. Would we go back? Possibily. The rooms were in decent shape. The hot tub this time was hot last time it wasnt. Other then that the stay was nice. Wish the waterpark was included with the rooms.

While the room was clean and spacious, the bedspread was old and the bathtub was worn. Public areas also looking a little worn. Workout facility was not available and no food service was available after 10PM (Isn't July tourist season?!). I won't be going back.

Our family of l7 stayed at the Arrowwood Resort this June, 2007. We stayed in the townhouses and they were beautiful. The decor was like brand new. The bedding was so nice and the mattresses were wonderful. Seven of our family stayed in the three bedroom town house and the other ten in the four bedroom. There was plenty of room for us all to eat together in the four bedroom. We enjoyed the pool,and the waterpark was so much fun. Our family played golf, went horseback riding, roasted hot dogs and marshmallows around the firepit provided by the resort. The resort also furnished forks to cook our marshmallows as well as the firewood. The homes were spotless and the cleaning service very attentive. The smaller children enjoyed fishing in the lake, riding bikes and the entire family had a wonderful vacation experience. I would return again in a minute. Thank you Arrowwood Resort and Thanks to our son and his wife for providing us with this wonderful vacation.

Hotel getting somewhat dated in appearance, in need of remodeling in some areas, and showing the wear and tear of too many years without repairs. Service at the outside bar, employees picking up pool areas, and general help/service for guests needs improving. Waitress at outside bar too busy talking with friends to come to our table for order. Dirty towels at pool area need picking up. Bag helper at front door too busy solving crossword puzzles to help guests with bags or door. Marina area run well. I wondered if the manager was on vacation somewhere else!

I Liked It Because You Had A Lot Of Things To Do. The Mini Golf Course Was Really Fun. Lake Darling Is Really Nice. I Had a Lot Of Fun!

stay always. stay every time. again and again. this place is the kind of place that you can go and have a good time.

The service in the dining room was horrible. My son and I threw the cook for a loop when we ordered a boiled egg. It finally came long after the rest of our party of 10 had eaten and gone back to the room. The Sat. breakfast buffet was absolutely terrible. The so called scrambled eggs weren't even eggs. The sausage tasted rancid. So much grease in the hashbrowns you could wring them out. Nothing was edible No bins to put used towels after using them at the waterpark. People just threw them wherever, down the halls etc. At least 6 of us came home with a rash and unbelieveable itchy skin. Not sure if its the waterpark or the shower water. The waterpark water had so much iron in it it looked brown with stains on everything. Totally not inviting. The room was roomy which was one positive.
