mega party house
By Chel, 01/25/10
we stayed there for 2 nights and both nights there were parties and women dressed up like hookers and guys asking for money for them. I would never recommend this to people. Very spendy for what you get which is nothing but a small room with the heater cranked up and not being albe to sleep

Lousy for conferences
By Tom, 10/31/09
Attended two days of a three-day conference here in August, 2009. (Have never stayed at this hotel.) All six conference rooms I was in were uncomfortably cold. Accoustics and sound system were slightly below mediocre and the constant, low-level, metallic "hum" in the ceiling, coming from the A/C system (which NEVER shut off) became annoying as each presentation wore on. In one long-shaped conference room, the two unnecessary rows of indoor trees in planters (whose bright idea was this?) got in the way of those in the back part of the room---made it hard to see the presenter's screen. These space wasters also lowered the capacity of the room. For a hotel that hosts conferences and conventions, I can't believe that the "higher-ups" in charge of such things have overlooked so much of what makes these events attractive to attendees. The annual conference I attended will be held next year at a Hyatt Regency in Washington D.C. I think I'll avoid it because of the Hotel host. I would never book a conference at a Hyatt Regency.

Great hotel! Great location!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/28/09
We stayed at the Hyatt during a convention that was being held there, and our stay was terrific. The hotel, while an older building, was very clean and comfortable, and the staff was out of this world! Everyone was extremely helpful, and very nice. We ate in three of the four restaurants in the hotel, and the food was very good! (Try the bread pudding at Spike's! YUM!) The rooms were good sized, although the bathroom was a bit small, but how much time does a person spend in the bathroom, anyway?! Our room was on the 12th floor facing north, and we had a wonderful view of Nicollet Mall and downtown. The downtown lights at night are gorgeous! You are close to many downtown attractions there, as there are many restaurants/bars/pubs in the area, along with shopping and museums nearby. There are buses going by constantly, so getting somewhere w/o your car is not a problem. Also, the light rail is also nearby for another option for getting around the city. We enjoyed our stay very, very much and will definitely consider staying at the Hyatt Regency again!

Worst customer service EVER!!! Disgusting Rooms!
By Emily, 12/02/08
We had to wait in line for over 45 minutes to check in, which resulted in us missing our dinner reservation I made 4 months in advance! The staff were not concerned at all. I contacted the concierge before our stay to request at suite because it was our 1 year wedding anniversary, we ended up in a mediocre room at best! The tub had several long black hairs and the floor had hairs everywhere! I don't think they even cleaned. Upon check out we had to wait in line once again! 20 minutes! Leaving late for another reservation for brunch. Absolutely INSANE!!! We attempted to use their kiosks for "speedy check-in" with the credit card we booked the room with and our confirmation number, but go figure...it wouldn't work Both times and instructed us to get in their un-godly line for assistance. The Hyatts customer service was a complete joke and made our anniversary extremely stressful! I've had better stays at Super 8 Motels!

Disappointed for the price
By HenryJ, 06/28/07
I stayed here for 5 days of a convention. It is very clean, staff is helpful, and rooms are comfortable. On the down side, bottled water was $4 a bottle. The gift shop/convenience store does not have convenient hours (9-5) the room did not have a mini frig or microwave anyway. The coffeepot made one cup at a time. Use of the internet was $10.00 a day extra for poor service at best. The main restaurant had a breakfast buffet for $22.00 a person so we only ate there once. Scrambled eggs & toast are scrambled eggs & toast, nothing special there. I have had better stays at a Comfort Inn for half the money, FREE internet, shuttle service and breakfast. It is no bargain. On the plus side, there are plenty of very good restaurants, shopping near by.

Frank's Reccomendations
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/11/07
Recently my daughter and I spent several days here. Beds are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The other great find was Frank! He runs the little kiosk by the bar. We had stopped to get a drink before a day of shopping and he ended up giving us some reccomendations for dining. The 3 we tried were excellent plus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They weren't on our original list of places to go but with Frank's rec. we tried them, and all 3 were the best. So if you need any info go to Frank, the best "find" in the city. Kudos Frank !!!!! and thanks for everything.

Nice place for a family with teenagers
By OneMoreDog, 01/03/06
We visited during the holiday season, and enjoyed the hotel. Everyone was helpful, the rooms were very clean and the bathroom vanity area is very large. Beds were very comfortable. The pool is small, and only 4' deep, but it's clean. The workout facility was...not quite what I thought. Yes, there was a Fitness Club, but it wasn't free for guests. They had a treadmill, bike, and stairclimber, but they were in the same room as the pool. Very hot. There were guest rooms that looked out onto these 3 pieces of equipment, and it was a little creepy. Other than that, we had a great time. The parking pass is a little bit of a hassle, but OK. Worth the money. It snowed on our last day, but everything was clear and easy to access. The rooms were very quiet. Even our connecting rooms didn't carry noise from one room to the other--with the door open. There were many restaurants within walking distance. As well as a Target. Triple Espresso, the show, is an easy 2 blocks. The skyway was nice, but not much was "direct" from the Hyatt. The light rail was 12 blocks. The buses were close, but the drivers weren't helpful at all. There were many times we were asked for "spare change" or money to "get into the shelter".

The spa is great
By EmilyU, 10/01/05
I loved there spa and club. Actually i received the best deep tissue massage in my life. And customer service was just great! They also had their own Aveda store located in the spa. And it just so happened that I love Aveda products! The girls at the desk and the massage therapist made me feel very comfortable. They really took the time to ficus on my needs.

Why we will never come back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
The bath has mildew around the tub. The hotel charges for EVERYTHING extra. The towels are like cleaning rags. For a Hyatt it is FAR below the Hyatt name. Shame on Hyatt.
