Not the best Crowne Plaze
By unhappy camper, 12/27/09
The front desk associate was nice and helpful when we arrived but did not even ask for our priority club number, - not so convenient when you have to make sure to do their job by asking if they entered it or not... Also, the beds are awful. We are in the two double beds room by the pool and its pretty noisy. I honestly though we would get a better hotel than this one in MN because compared to other Crownes from California all the way down the florida, This one has to be the worst, and im usually an InterContintental Hotel chain.. tsk tsk .. by the way, DO NOT be fooled by the online pictures.. haahahaha, the rooms do not look as nice.

Pleasantly Surprised
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/08
This was my first trip to Minneapolis-a pleasure trip. I had read positive reviews elsewhere and decided to book. My room was nice, there was fresh fruit daily in the lobby, a beautiful fire in the lobby/bar, a calming night time CD along with lavender linen spray in a silk sachet. What I was really pleased with was the FREE wireless and shuttles avail. for the MOA and airport. We only had one problem when we tried to order room service one morning and could not get through for over an hour. We contacted the manager and he sent up a complimentary meal (anything we wanted)for me and my guest. I would advise getting a suite as microwaves are not in rooms as a standard.

The best hotel I've ever stayed at!
By Nathan Bush, 05/09/07
I stayed at this hotel in March of 2005 with my ex-roomates on a Mall of America trip and I took this hotel at my full advantage. The Pool was huge, which is a plus for me whenever I stay at a hotel, and it even has a Sauna along with a Hot tub! The front desk area was VERY modern and nice-looking. It had LCD TV sets displaying different channels at once along with several other TVs stating the weather and news. The Decor was very nice. Our room was very nice. Had all the amentities a motel room should have. The only bad thing is that our view was some construction site...but in our hotel window we saw the home of Josten's, which created my high school yearbooks and graduation supplies, which I thought was kind of cool. This does not affect today, but when we went there was very heavy construction occuring and we had to take an entirely different route to get to our hotel...which was a pain, but that's not a problem anymore since it has been completed. That is why I gave the "location" column a 3 out of 5. The best thing of this motel was the "North" restaurant. I am a big fan of modern restaurants, and this was the nicest restaurant I have ever seen. The staff was very friendly and made me feel welcome. Why go out of the motel to eat when you have this lovely restaurant adjacent? I don't know why, but I love Square ceramic plates, and they served my meal on it, and that took the cake, even though it was a burger and fries, which were good mind you, and only spent 8 bucks and some change. I hope to come to this hotel again! It is a definite motel for the business traveler if they need to catch a plane the next day. VERY professional. I recommend this hotel to EVERYONE!

Crowne Plaza
By Tennille, 01/03/06
The facility was really new, clean and updated. It was a great value, especially during the holiday weekend. My only complaint has little to do with the hotel and more to do with the guests; some clown pulled the fire alarm a little before midnight. The alarm was not reset for over 20 minutes. I would visit this hotel again, just not on New Years Eve.

AIRPORT Hotel is right!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/16/05
It takes more than a comfortable bed and a clean room to make a hotel stay enjoyable. Anyone staying on the top floor of the Crowne Plaza Airport Hotel will be able to attest to this. This hotel is located DIRECTLY underneath the flight path to the Minneapolis/St Paul Airport. No need to use the wake up call service--I was awakened each morning to the roar of jet engines flying directly over my room. AT 5:12 EACH MORNING! This was after having to listen to them until midnight the previous night. Incoming flights come in only several hundred feet above the top of this hotel (this is not an exaggeration!). I will never stay here again, and have notified our travel agent not to refer other clients to this hotel in the future.

"no bellmen, no concierge, no service"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/30/05
Hotel description on hotel website states this property has bellmen and a concierge service. They do not offer either service. Traveling with my 83 year old mother I required these services and chose this hotel because they stated that they offer this service. When I requested a bellman at checkin the desk clerk told me that they do not have bellmen at this hotel. We requested a room with a view and got a room overlooking a gravel roof and huge silver exaust vents...we had to request another room. I went to the front desk to ask where the concierge desk was and they stated that they do not have a concierge. I asked for a suggestion of a good local restaurant and the desk clerk handed me a computer print out showing a long list of restaurants with phone numbers but no addresses. There were no phone directories in the room or any type of restaurant guide for the area. At check in there were dirty trays in the hallway with empty beer bottles and they were still there at check out the next day. At check out I asked to talk to the GM and he stated that they do not have bellmen and concierge service because they cater to the business traveler and the business traveler does not like this service...I am also a business traveler and as a lady, I love this type of service! The hotel directory leads you to believe that the hotel was built in 2004...it was remodeled in 2004...the building and fixtures are very dated but this could be overlooked if they had superior customer service.

Terrible customer service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/19/05
The hotel tried to charge a much higher rate than had been quoted to 2 different people, that I know of. Then when the guests argued, Travis didn't back down from the higher price. Both instances the people had to go to the reservation manager. Why? Very difficult to get to.

Our Clients Stay here
By Mary, 08/18/05
I work across the street from the Crowne Plaza and send clients there all the time. I have heard nothing but great things about the hotel, food, staff and amentities. Even the shower curtains are curved outward for extra showering room. The vanity is a woman's dream. The food is excellent and the Sunday brunch is reasonable and the best in town. If you stay there frequently on business and the menu gets boring - just ask the wait staff if the cook can make you something else even if its not on the menu - they will accommodate!!!

Crowne Jewel in Bloomington
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/21/05
Our family of 4 stayed here recently. The hotel has an "art deco" lobby and adjacent bar/restaurant. The restaurant food and service was excellent. The Sunday buffet was second to none. The hotel has the nicest pool area that we have stayed at in the Twin Cities. Our suite was very spacious and comfortable. We'd definitely return again.
