Terrible Hotel - Waste of Money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/7/10
The rooms were aged. Our room was a non smoking room. The room smelled of stale smoke. The hallway smelled of cigarette smoke. The towels in our non smoking room even smelled of smoke, which only got worse when made wet when toweling off. I contacted the manager about my displeasure and the manager did not do a thing. He stated that he would have another manager contact me. ?? I never received a call back. The backdoor to the hotel was zip tied open so a room key was no longer necessary to enter the hotel. So much for security. We paid $89.00 for the nights stay. The room wasn't worth even half of that. I would never recommend anyone stay at this dirty, smelly hotel. The manager was not accountable for his hotel and his guests comfort. I wonder who owns this place and why improvements are not made as now that I see all of the reviews, the majority experienced the same thing as me. The place needs a complete overhaul.

Uck this place is filthy, smelly and not kept up.
By Hotel Hussy, 9/28/09
We have stay here before and had a bad experience but decided to try it one more time. This last time was HORRIBLE. We stay there with 6 friends. Out of the 6 of us only 1 did not have something go wrong. Two of us were given keys for a room that was already occupied, 1 had their room booked to someone else after they were already in it and the front desk made them change rooms even though they were in their first. They lost one of our reservations and even though he had an email confirmation they told him tuff luck and he had to bunk with someone else. The last one was quoted $105 on the internet but they over charged him at check out. They did not offer to comp anything to any of us. In fact the manager gave my husband inappropriate gestures when his back was turned because we asked for a new room since the room they gave us was already occupied (how dare us)!

Pleasantly surprised
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/24/08
Based on the other reviews I was expecting this place to be a dump, but I am happy to report we had a nice stay there. The front desk staff went out of there way to be helpful, and the connected bar/restaurant was a lot of fun with great bands both nights we were there, and very nice wait staff.

Never never use this hotel if you can avoid it
By Lea, 9/3/08
The front desk staff is incompetent. They didn't charge us the rate they quoted, they doubled it! Also, they ran the charges twice on top of everything else. If you have a debit card that holds the money in your bank account for each pre-auth DO NOT use this hotel. Our vacation was ruined because of their double charging us causing our funds in our bank account to go into overdrawn status cutting short our trip to Mall of America & ruining my daughter's last 2 days of vacation. It took 3 days & the threat of a theft charge for not correcting the problem for it to finally get taken care of.

Disgusting, dirty, smelly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/26/08
My kids and I booked a room here because of the close proximity to ValleyFair. Absolutely the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The entire place has a musty, moldy smell. The carpet was so filthy and smelly we couldn't even take our shoes off. The pool area had visible mold and mildew growing. The "continental" breakfast is a joke, along with the food-encrusted tables in the breakfast area. Smelly, moldy, dirty place!

Don't waste your money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/21/08
The hotel was very dirty, no maid service, the came in and made the bed and did nothing else, they did not pick up any garbage, didnot clean the coffee pot, did not vaccuum the 3 days we were there. We made reservations over the phone and were promised a suite with a king bed and a pull out, when we got there the room was small, dirty and only one bed with no pull out, there were crumbs all over the floor, the hotel is falling apart, I did not notice any updating like the internet said. I will definetly not be back.

Not in a hurry to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/6/07
The location of this hotel was wonderful, in the morning we could see the Canterbury Downs horses being exercised. The location, however, was the only thing that was wonderful! We made phone reservations for this hotel and were told we would have a non-smoking poolside suite. Not true. When checking in we were given a smoking room on the second floor, down and across the hall from the pool. We had a two night reservation...the soap and shampoo were not replaced after the first night and our son had to go down to the desk and "beg" for soap. Shampoo was non-existent the second night. In the pool area the hot tub was only luke warm, and pool was cool and then...there were no towels in the pool area! We had to ride the elevator being quite cold and dripping wet All-in-all, this was not the best place we have ever stayed in. The one good thing about this hotel was we were very glad to come home and were happy that our vacation and hotel stay had come to an end!

This place was filthy and staff not helpful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/07
Where does one begin? The rooms smelled horrible. There was plaster coming off of the walls in the pool area. The service was not helpful at all. We were double charges and it is taking an act of congress to get it fixed. They state there is nothing they can do they can't do anything without a manager, put us on hold, we hang up and call back, just to be put on hold again. Watch your billing in this place. I would not recommend this place to stay at all. I would drive home again before I would stay there.
