For a brief business meeting or conference, the Clarion Hotel Detroit Metro Airport is ideally located. It is practically on the runway of Detroit Metro Airport. That means you do not get scenery; you get jet noise. However, inside the hotel, there are enough of the standard amenities that it is easy to host a gathering. There is nothing special about the decor—it is a standard, clean, well-equipped hotel, with dining facilities inside and plenty of places to eat nearby. The swimming pool is outdoors, so that means it's an iffy proposition at least eight or nine months of the year. But whatever the occasion, this hotel assures you a comfortable and memorable stay.

The best was when i called the hotel and ask for a shuttle to come pick my family up it was right outside when i walked out...i made the phone call when the plane was @ the gate.(no check in bags) The negative things are that the rooms are kind of in the back since the pool is in the middle... the breakfast - they charge you only for the dishes that are covered(hot food) there is no sign telling you that...dad had to pay... all in all service was good....

Do not waste your time

I was charged $150 extra for a room I did not smoke in. I just stopped in harrisinburg, va after bieng released from active duty. The desk clerk did not explain if there was smoke in a room you would be charged. They claimed it had to be proffessionaly cleaned.In all I paid $250 for a room that was not worth $50. This is bad business. I have told everyone I know to go else were. What a rip off.

DISASTER!!

I checked in at 2AM with my family expecting to recieve 2double beds but was informed by the front desk lady that my gaurentee was for the reservation and not for a specific bed type. WHAT A JOKE! I find out 3 weeks later that the hotel chared me 3 times on my credit card for a one night stand. This still is in dispute and may never get resolved. Stay away from this hotel unless you want poor quality of help and a quick resolution to any problems. I cant even get the hotel corperate office to do anything about this. (CHOICE HOTELS INTERNATIONAL)

wonderful experience

this hotel was wonderful only a couple things to be fixed.The first is the pool needs to be heated or covered.The second was there was no jacuzzi.Other than that they accomodated us very well.I didnt have a long wait at check in and they even let me bring my pet.Although I dont think I should have been charged a pet fee since it was a guinea pig and he wasnt out and about he was in his cage.But even that was ok.

Decent place to stay - for the money

This location is in the flight path for arriving flights at DTW. Although there was seemigly little done during the recent remodel to deaden the sound of inbound aircraft, the last flights arriving are around 10pm, so you should still be able to get a decent nights sleep. The rooms are clean and decently appointed for the price. As far as I am concerned, the location of this hotel makes it most suitable for their park/sleep/fly deal for about $80 per night. That gets your car in the "yellow bus" airlines parking lot, directly accross the street, so you will get a quick transport to/from the airport.

Great Stay!

Hotel has some minor renovation work in progress but, rooms are great and staff is very helpful. Room service could be faster. Overall, a great value for money.

Dreadful place

Lousy Room, Lousy Service! Hotel caught fire while we were there and still hit us with HUGE service charges. Long distance: $8.00 per minute! Staa totally unhelpful. Acted lIke the fire was our problem not theirs!

Time to Leave.

The smell of raw sewage when entering lobby set the tone for our experence. We left to stay at a different hotel.
