Worst Hotel in the World
By Michael, 05/21/08
I called 2 months in advance for a hotel reservation. I asked for a nice room on the first floor. I was told by the hotel that all the rooms were in good conditional. When my wife and I arrived we were given a room that had Mold on the wallpaper and Flying Bug coming out the the light fixture! I went to the front desk waited for 15 minutes and asked for a different room. The second room did not have any bugs but did have a mustly smell (like Mold) and a broken air conditioner. Also the switchplates were coming off of the walls. I then went back to the front desk and waited another 15 minutes to get waited on. This time they gave me a room that already was occupied by a another person whom I walked in on! I then went back to the front desk waited another 15 minutes and asked for the Owners name and contact information. I took my wife and I 5 hours to drive there from PA. We were there about an hour! Then we drove 5 hours back home!! If I could I would give it a negative 5 star review!! Beware!!!

worst hotel stay ever VERY NASTY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/07
The staff was incompetent, rooms wre dirty and nasty , bags of trash laying in the hallways, elevators out of service. Overall this was the worse hotel experince I ever had, a lot of my group had to get other accomdations at the Best Western right down the street. The management, and staff should take A Lot of pointers from them!!!!

Not a good choice
By ANNETTE, 07/02/07
The housekeeping and wait staff were great. The food was really good. The entertainment in the Red Parrot Lounge was fantastic. The front desk staff was less than helpful with requests and concerns. There were several problems over the June 29 weekend during our family reunion. The pool was shut down; the satellite signal went out; each room did not have free Internet service or free local calls as advertised. Local calls were 50 cents.

Worst Hotel Around!!
By stacia, 05/21/07
This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I don't even know where to begin. The maids started a fight with my family within the first 5 minutes of arrival, and then intentionally locked us out of side door to hotel so we had to walk all the way around building, only to get back to our room, and find the same group of maids standing outside of room laughing at us. We visited on a Saturday with our 6 kids, rented 2 rooms, and the pool was closed all day until 6pm because they decided to put chemicals in pool, no good explaination for this. Jacuzzi was out of order. Both rooms were hot, and never cooled down in 24 hours that we stayed, even though the AC ran the entire time. Room service is awful all the way around, bad food, bad service, and way too high prices. The lobby & entrance appear to be the only upgrade to this hotel. The rooms are no better than your typical $40 room at Motel 6, nothing against Motel 6, but I expect more from a Holiday Inn establishment. Very disapointed. Will never stay here again.

Dont Order Room Service!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/05
The food was awefull, and the tip is added to the bill... so overall I spent about 40$... not too bad I thought but the delivery guy took 10$ for an additional tip and then I called down to them again because they didnt bring us a drink, the guy came back to give us 2 cans of coke and charged us 8$...

Wasn't what I expected
By Mz_Espionage, 09/14/05
I actually expected more. The rooms were okay, but the bathroom set up was not as I expected. The initial bathroom was rather small and the sink in the room was distracting. Also, we had problems with our room door and there were simple items that were missing from the room, like cream and sugar for the coffee, the ice bucket, and an extra garbage can. I guess I assumed that most hotels have at least 2 cans per room, we had one...and it overflowed. The front desk was nice, but wasn't very informed on certain questions asked at check in. Older hotel... doesn't look like they've invested in keeping it up. Overall was okay...nothing was crawling or leaking, just expected more for a Holiday Inn.

Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/02/05
Older hotel, but very well maintained so added an element of fun. Staff was one of the friendliest I have experienced with any hotel stay. View from the tower is nice as well (I was on the 12th floor). Will definitely make this my regular hotel of choice when in the Detroit area.
