Older facility--not too bad
By S, 7/5/11
The staff were very nice, place was reasonably clean. It is old and in need of updating, but we were in a pinch and it worked out fine. Our dinner was fabulous, but we were very disappointed in the breakfast-mostly the waitress, she was TERRIBLE-no tip and we did complain. Overall stay was ok though and I would consider staying here if need be again.

Pick a better spot- you won't be sorry.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/23/11
This hotel needs help- bad. The service is horrible. The rooms are average. Most are not very nice. poolside is ok. I would totally suggest a suite if you are planning on staying because it is the only nice room. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room- even though it implies that it is!! You will pay extra for this. I got locked out of my room and they had to have someone come and break into the room from the outside door- (double entry into the hotel room) There was no one who could unlock the door in the hotel so they had to get a manager who was at home- god only knows how long it would take for this person to get there... it was an hour- I sat on the floor in the hallway. I don't know- I would suggest finding a nicer place to stay.

dissappointed will not be returning
By h vandervord, 7/31/10
My Wife and i arrived at three pm for check in and was told the room wasn't ready, when i enquired when it would be ready i was told "i don't really know". i asked to speak to a manager and was told the manager will be in on Monday, this was Saturday, now keep in mind the hotel was fully booked for the canoe races and there is no manager on site to handle problems how did that happen? We waited over an hour i watched as other families arrived and were given the same excuse. There were several military families that arrived while we waited, one family with two young children were given the same excuse and ended up waiting three hours before a room was ready now i feel anyone serving in the military deserves to be treated better than that. I approched a different clerk who helpfull and found usa room, not the room we reserved but who cares at that point we settled into our room and found ants crawling around the floor we were staying the one night and decided to not complain to the management ( What good would would it have done as the manager was gone until monday).

Grayling Holiday Inn
By Elroy Jetson, 11/8/05
Overpriced for an aging hotel. That said it did have a pool and "high speed" internet. I put high speed in quotes because it is a very limited high speed. Limited to web browsing. I attempted a video chat and received an error that there wasn't enough bandwidth.

Great place for families
By Heather R.D., 10/2/05
This Holiday Inn is wonderful! There is a children's pool and a regular pool as well as jucuzzi and sauna. Other amenities well worthwhile are the arcade, children's indoor playground, shuffleboard and table tennis. Kids eat free with the purchase of an adult meal also. The breakfast buffet left something to be desired but the continental breakfast was very good. The only real complaint is the temperature of the pools is always a little too cold. The kids don't seem to mind much but us adults sure do!
