Don't stay here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/11
Absolutely terrible experience. A large group of us checked in at one time and all were charged $75. One member of our group arrived late and was charged $59. We confronted them about over charging and did get a refund, but it got worse. The hall ways are over a hundred degrees. I was sweating just from walking to my room. There were no ice machines on the second floor, and the three they have don't work. They have on site laundry, which is one washer and dryer for over 200 rooms. There is no WiFi and no microwave. The bar advertised beer specials for the Tigers game, but when we went we were told the keg was broken. We asked if they would take 50 cents off bottles, and she very risky said no. Our groups keys kept deactivating so we had to walk to the desk repeatedly to get them activated, sometimes still not working after that. I went to the desk and told them about all the problems and didn't even get an apology much less a discount. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!

Nightmare Weekend at the Midland Resort
By Tanya, 2/5/10
This was a joke we stayed on a Friday night so that the kids could swim the hottub was out of order the pool area was so cold they couldn't swim. They have a play area where the kids can hang out most all the parents were wearing jackets it was so cold..We complained they gave us 20.00 off. Would not recomend staying there.

We appreciated their great service!
By Shah, 10/21/09
Our tennis team recently stayed at Midland Resort for our state finals tournament. The kids enjoyed the quick, convenient, hot and free buffet breakfast before their early morning matches. It was much better than the cold continental breakfast they used to serve when it was Holiday Inn. Additionally, when I checked out of my room hurriedly in the morning I forgot to pack one of my favorite Nike jacket left on the hanger. I called the resort the next day and housekeeping staff had turned it. They shipped it to back to me free of charge and I appreciated this outstanding service so much! Hope to come back again next year for our tennis state finals!

we will not go back
By Plympton@att.net, 3/27/08
We have been having a family reunion at this hotel every year for seven years. This year we were treated so bad by Samantha at the front desk that we will never go back. I make the reservations every year through the sales office. The woman we normally deal with is no longer at the company. I called the sales office three times. First in October or November to get the reservations. Then in December to make sure every thing was in order. In January one of our party found a better deal at the same hotel on the 1-800 number. I called the sales office and asked about it. I was told I couldn't get the same deal but, they would give us a discount voucher, for each room we rented, to use in the resturant. That sounded ok so I accepted it and did not change the reservations. When we got to the hotel Samantha refused to give us the vouchers. She told her colleague that I never talked to the office. Then she told me she talked to three managers, including one named Julie, and they all said I never called the sales office. They have lost a regular reunion. We will go to another hotel since we cannot not count on their word.

fun pool for kids
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/4/07
search the net and then call motel and ask for price-we got room for entertainment card rate of $65 w no problem. no one is overly friendly, but just acted business as usual. beds are not fantastic. one was okay, one was not. but the pool was 2 1/2 feet all the way across and the kids can walk across the whole thing. large balls to throw around the pool and a playground for kids. not the quietest motel by any means. Because of the fun our grandkids had (and the price) we will return. it is rare for them to be able to feel safe in walking across an entire (and it's a good-sized) pool. oh-and it was bath water warm! just ok breakfast.

Expected more for the money.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/4/07
At $99.95 a night for a room I expected a little more. The rooms are very small. Way overpriced for what you get in this very old hotel.

Worth Every Penny!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/05
For the money you spend on most places, I was a little hesitant to stay here. I expected a modest hotel w/no extras. But I was wrong!!! The rooms were clean, service was with a smile, the ammenities were numerous and we really enjoyed ourselves during our stay. Even though our family was in Hemlock, which was about a 1/2 hour away,we will go the extra mile to stay here again when we return to town.

I look forward to my stay in Midland because of Holiday Inn.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/22/05
I teach in Midland every year so I spend 3-4 weekends at the Holiday Inn. It's a great place to relax after a long day in class. It's quiet. The exercise room invigorates me! I receive quick service in the restaurant at breakfast. I have forgotten my toothbrush or toothpaste a couple times. I call the front desk and they deliver them to my room almost immediately.

oldie but goodie
By Amy, 9/4/04
Although this hotel is older and apepars a bit run-down, it's actually my favorite hotel in town. I grew up in Midland and we always had my birthday party here. The hotel is quiet (as long as your room isn't by the pool) and the service is great.
