Annuel Spring Getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/31/07
This charming inn offers just what a traveler looks for in a Cape Cod setting: peace and quiet. Conveniently located on Route 6A and within walking distance of a lovely breakfast/lunch cafe, the Earl of Sandwich Inn is a little gem.
Our main priority was finding lodging that would allow us to bring our large, elderly dog. There are plenty of grounds surrounding the motel in which to walk dogs, as long as you are good pet owners and clean up. (as I'm sure you all do) The sweetest touch was that the maid actually straightend out our dog's bed, and set up his little toy so that it would be waiting for him when we returned at the end of the day. There is a picturesque duck pond out back, with a picnic area. The innkeepers were friendly and helpful, and have two dogs of their own who "answer" the door of the office when you check in.
The rooms are basic, but very clean and rather large, and included a desk, as well as a table and chairs and basic cable TV service. Beds were perfectly comfortable. There are chairs and tables outside each room for taking in the morning sun or afternoon breezes.
This will be our second year returning to the Earl of Sandwich, and we hope to make it a Spring tradition.
