The Earl is the King.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/08
We have stayed at The Earl of Sandwich every year for the past 6 + years. It is family owned and operated and cared for. We love the duck pond and the morning [fresh baked] muffins. We always feel appreciated and welcome here! It is clean and away from the "bustling crowd".

Annuel Spring Getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/31/07
This charming inn offers just what a traveler looks for in a Cape Cod setting: peace and quiet. Conveniently located on Route 6A and within walking distance of a lovely breakfast/lunch cafe, the Earl of Sandwich Inn is a little gem. Our main priority was finding lodging that would allow us to bring our large, elderly dog. There are plenty of grounds surrounding the motel in which to walk dogs, as long as you are good pet owners and clean up. (as I'm sure you all do) The sweetest touch was that the maid actually straightend out our dog's bed, and set up his little toy so that it would be waiting for him when we returned at the end of the day. There is a picturesque duck pond out back, with a picnic area. The innkeepers were friendly and helpful, and have two dogs of their own who "answer" the door of the office when you check in. The rooms are basic, but very clean and rather large, and included a desk, as well as a table and chairs and basic cable TV service. Beds were perfectly comfortable. There are chairs and tables outside each room for taking in the morning sun or afternoon breezes. This will be our second year returning to the Earl of Sandwich, and we hope to make it a Spring tradition.

Cleanest motel room award
By Paul-Eric, 10/09/05
Pros :-) Helpful, smiling and fun staff; Breakfast was more than expected from a 'budget' accomodation; Clean, clean, clean. Atypical of most motels of that era that have fake post and beams in the rooms. Cons :-( Can't find anything to say. Overview: My wife was reluctant to stay in a motel, but all that disappeared once she saw the meticulously clean room and bathroom. The decor was fitting for this place, and again I must repeat it is very clean: no dust bunnies in sight. Surprised by the simple but good continental breakfast too, complete with juice and home-baked mini-muffins. Mattresses had been recently changed. We were glad to lay down and sleep without any worry. The owners and staff are doing a great job: kudos to them.

Nice little find!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/05
My wife and I have been to the Cape many, many times. We have probably passed the Earl on most occasions, but last summer we decided to stay and were quite surprised. Very quaint rooms, spotlessly clean and convenient. Quieter than you might expect given its location. We will definitely be back.
