Awesome place!

I have stayed several times. The staff and service was great. If you trying to save some money I'd suggest using SweetHotelDeals. Net

Walk to University & breakfast, but worn & dated.
By ,
I picked the Inn based on its location within walking distance to the University and the ease of getting breakfast. The room was clean, and the people were pleasant. We enjoyed the breakfast, but no staff were present in the breakfast room to help. I would recommend only to folks who want to walk to the University and have breakfast included. If appearance is a big deal to you, look elsewhere. The Inn is very worn down from the carpet to our heater that had a relay that kept clicking on and off. I used ear plugs to sleep. The gated parking is $18 and you walk outside to enter. WiFi was great in the lobby and OK in the room.

OMG!
By ,
First off, the good things. The location is great, near Johns Hopkins and within walking distance of a Barnes&Noble and several places to eat. The building is nicely redone inside and has some character. Now about my dislikes. I had no problem climbing to the 4th floor to get to my room (no elevator), but I was shocked to find some sort of animal excrement on the 3rd floor landing. After being in their underground parking and seeing the rat traps there, I was relieved to be told that they had an unofficial hotel dog but I still considered myself lucky that I didn't step on what he left behind. When I got back from dinner the night I stayed there, I discovered that there were no towels in the bathroom (unless you count the dirty towel on the floor behind the bathroom door). I had about 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper and no back up. I asked for towels and TP on my way out the next morning, but then had to come back downstairs to ask again when I got back. When it was time to check out, there was a sign on the door saying "Back in 15 minutes" with no note as to when that might be. I waited 30 minutes for the desk guy to come back. He had a personal errand to run that I guess couldn't wait until after check-out time. My general impression was that no one at the hotel really cared much about customer service and taking care of the guests. If I go back to Baltimore, I will definitely be looking elsewhere for a place to stay.

Wonderful!
By ,
I loved the Hopkins Inn! This was my first time staying with them and it definitely won't be the last! I visited a couple friends going to all the schools around here, mainly JHU, and needed a pocket friendly place to stay. After reading some of the reviews, I was undoubtedly hesitant, but felt that I couldn't really beat the location and current rate they had so went on with it anyway. Now, I have no idea what some of these reviewers were talking about when they said the service was awful, because I not only recieved amazing service, but I definitely gained a good friend. If he's still there, make sure you say Hi to Nick! Everyone else was more than wonderful and made my trip everything I could've asked for! The actual room wasn't a five star kind of room, but I wasn't expecting it and I was very pleased with the room. It had quite the home feel to it and everything was in working order and I came "home" to a clean room everyday. Breakfast was basic, just some cereal and bagels among other things. Honestly, the only negative thing I can say about this hotel is that they need new paint in room 204, it's a blood red color which wasn't really an issue. Other than that, I will DEFINITELY stay here again!

Would not stay again
By ,
I don't really know where to begin. The service was bad, the toilets didn't work properly, the basement of the building was flooded again, and the free breakfast was paltry. Unfortunately, they are one of the few hotels near the Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus, and the proximity to the Homewood campus is the Inn's only selling point.

Great Hotel
By ,
I came to visit Johns Hopkins University with my dad and wasn't sure what to expect. My grandfather had set up the reservations for us earlier in the day over the internet and he is kind of a quirky guy. However for a wednesday night in baltimore it was $110 and a few blocks from the University. The people were nice and the rooms are large with a "living area" in addition to the bedroom and bathroom.

COMPLETELY OUSTANDING
By ,
My son and I were touring the school with family, in prospect of him attending in the summer. The place reminded me of when I was a child and we used to go out favorite grandmothers house on holidays. The place was cozy, quaint, and overall, felt like I was in someones home. The staff was always there to help with anything, and even sat down with us at the dining room table and had many wonderful discussions about anything and everything. Overall, the place is somewhere I would hope everyone would love to stay. Its warm, inviting, ans SO close to everything in the JHU campus area. If you are looking to stay near the harbor, this isn't for you, but if you would like something away from all the tourists, and somewhere that is quiet and peaceful, then by all means, the Hopkins Inn is the perfect choice. And for the price, you cant beat it since you will be saving about 200 dollars a night from what the harbor hotels charge. Most excellent, hats off to you guys.

HORRIBLE SERVICE
By ,
I reserved a room at the Hopkins Inn in Baltimore (next to Johns Hopkins) online at their website, then called three days after to confirm the reservation. They told me that everything was fine, blah blah blah. Two months later, and it's three days before the trip, so I call one last time to make a final confirmation (since it was a college orientation date so most of the hotels nearby would be sold out). Like before, they told me that the reservation was in order and that everything was fine. We arrive there around 6 PM on a Friday after suffering through Baltimore traffic. We go up to the front desk to the horribly rude woman and give her our confirmation receipt. THEY COULD NOT FIND THE RESERVATION. She spent 10 minutes just refreshing the page "looking" for our reservation but not really doing anything. She wouldn't say anything until I finally said, "So.. where's our room?" When she finally told us that she could not find our reservation, she didn't even have the audacity to look sorry about it. She pretty much said "Look, there's nothing I can do right now, so you're just going to have to leave." All the hotels nearby are full, so we had to drive in an unfamiliar surrounding to a location 30 minutes away while it's dark. It's really difficult to get the right directions when you have no idea what the roads are like in a new/foreign city. The person working at Hopkins Inn wouldn't even give us directions or phone numbers to a nearby hotel/motel or even to the highway. She had an attitude, and even told us "It's not our fault that our website's system didn't go through with your reservation." WE CALLED TO CONFIRM TWICE. I was just really upset with this whole experience, and we spent almost an hour in there.. and they never said sorry once. Now we have to go and check to see if they charged us, even though they "assured" us that nothing like it would happen. DO NOT STAY HERE. IT IS ABYSMAL. Service is horrible in all aspects.

Terrible experience
By ,
I think that it is very overpriced for what they offer. Moreover, I was treated in a very rude fashion by some of the staff to the point that I was very offended. I don't think that it's a place for a quiet and comfortable stay.
