Smoke gets in your eyes.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/17/05
I've stayed here a few times now, on business. It is convenient to my work. But that's the only thing it has going for it.
This would be an OK hotel, except for two things: the parking situation and the smoking situation.
Rooms are spread out, hidden down a maze of long, twisting corridors. The lobby is a long walk from most rooms. And parking is only around the permiter of the property and always overcrowded, so expect a long walk, and dress for the weather.
I'm writing this review from a room in this hotel. Actually, the 2nd room I've been in tonight. When I checked in, they put me in a "non-designated room," even though I always request non-smoking. Not only that, but it was a combo bedroom/meeting room. There was a 6-seat conference table in the middle of an oversized hotel room, and the king size bed was an uncomfortable Murphy-type bed (the type that folds up into the wall). The TV was off to the side of the bed, so it was nearly impossible to watch from the bed. After I had been in the room for an hour, smoke started pouring in under the suite-door from the adjoining room.
They next moved me to another "non-designated room." This one also reeks of smoke. But at least there's no adjoining room so hopefully the smokiness won't get worse overnight.
Also, food and other charges are expensive.
I won't be back to this hotel -- at least not until they can guarantee a non-smoking room.
