Newagen Seaside Inn, Southport

If you are trying to find a remote natural location, this is not it. You will get a claustrophobic feeling. The location is a "colony" with year round residents.

Not really an Inn. There is a condo community built onto the property. Very clean rooms. Noisy. Front desk woman not really interested in helping you for simple problems like finding a place to dine when the main dining room is filled by wedding parties. Pool is gross. Large slab of concrete in middle of main area where old pool used to be. View of ocean is restricted on one side by condos. Takes about 20 to 30 minutes to drive to town, eat, and then drive back. No nature trails. Kind of a pain. Kind of a dull ornery place. Locals have been living in isolation at the tip of the island for too long. Wouldn't recommend it for more than one night.

If you are looking for quiet and relaxing place to stay, this is the place. Our room in the Little Inn was spacious and it was very clean. The grounds are landscaped nicely and the view of the ocean is wonderful. The pool was clean and used by many. The staff were friendly and willing to help in anyway. Breakfast Buffet was given every morning and the choices were plentiful and delicious. Only a short 10-15 minute drive to Boothbay Harbor.
