Majestic Regency, Wells

From the moment we checked in, we had a great stay at the Majestic Regency. We spent four beautiful August days at the facility. Please keep in mind this is a summer resort community--if you want a 4* Westin, look down the road. This is ideal for families, beautiful lawn, nice pool, tennis & basketball, grills and picnic areas for cooking. We had a 2 bedroom suite with kitchenette. Nice continental breakfast served in the dining hall every day. Trolley is closeby to hop on and ride to Kennebunk or to the beaches. Staff and owners are on site and are seen throughout the day. A note about musty smells--I have stayed at many beach cottages and when you get a damp summer, this happens. It's hard to avoid...

It was old, used and dirty. The lamps, mattress, pillows all had stains on them. The bedspread has extremely old, the sheets were threadbare and didn't fit the mattress. the breakfast was horrible food and atmosphere. smokers outside the room, everything was old, dirty, stained and covered wtih a film.

I have been coming to this motel with my family every summer for the last several years. We find that it gets better every time we return. The breakfast is great, there is lots for the kids to do, and the owners and staff are fantastic! They even provide cooking facilities for nights that we want to stay in and save our money for the beach. Sure, its a little older than some of the other places in the area, but well maintained and well worth the price.

Average motel with a lot of familiarity. The staff is very nice.

Room musty with heavy mildew smell. Bathroom moldy with a cold water sink faucet that just dribbled making it impossible to brush your teeth. Roll away cot mattress pathetic-returned it and opted to double up in one of the beds. TV screen miniscule. Security very questionable -only a slider with a regular sliding door lock and keys that are repeated with every customer for the same room. The evening we were there the office was even broken in to. We would never repeat a stay there and were grateful that we had to change our original two night reservation to only one night.

There was no A/C, The room was dirty (stained lampshades, stains on the carpet, dirty windows).The beds looked like they were 50 years old, and the room smelled disgusting. The teenager at the front desk was rude, and inexperianced about customer service. They refused to accomidate my family. I would not stay there if it was the last hotel on earth!
