Amazing hotel from a couple of locals!
By Mary, 02/09/10
We live locally, and visited the lord camden Inn just to get away. The room was immaculate, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast was better than many. We will definitely return, thank you all for a lovely stay!

Just for dogs and their people!
By Jane, 01/12/10
As another reviewer stated, this hotel is “pooch friendly.” Unfortunately, it treats its four-legged guests much better than it treats those of the two-legged variety. The first room we were shown smelled like dogs and there was a dog barking in a nearby door. We were moved to another room and it didn’t smell as badly, but after we got dressed and went outside in the light, we discovered we both had long white dog hairs all over us, so we went to a drug store and bought one of those lint rollers which we completely used up during our stay at the Camden Inn. Then, we went out one night and my husband stepped in dog crap in the parking lot. Yes, people are “supposed” to walk their dogs in designated areas, but if they don’t, management says absolutely nothing, just as it does nothing about barking dogs. I also discovered a flea crawling up my leg which I could have gotten anywhere in the hotel or parking area because dogs are literally all over the place. My advise: Unless you live with dog smells, hairs, barking, fleas and crap at home, give the Camden Inn a wide berth.

If you travel with dogs, this is the place!

Camden is a dog friendly town and Lord Camden Inn makes it easy. Totally pooch friendly - from dog bowls and treats in the room to smiles and helpful information - the staff at Lord Camden is the best. Add a walking park across the street, very quiet rooms and a king-size bed more comfortable than the one at home and you'll want to return again and again. Off-season rates are more reasonable but the exceptional service and convenience make the higher rates more palatable. Highly recommended for responsible dog owners.

We won't go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/14/08
This Inn is not what it was years ago. The staff were very confused about whether or not we had paid our deposit, and said we would be charged the full amount. The deposit had been paid. Breakfast was terrible. Cold hard eggs and canned fruit. Although the rooms are clean, all the charm is missing. We had stayed there many times in past years, but this was our last! We'll stay at the Windward B&B instead.

Outstanding visit!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/16/07
My wife and I recently spent two nights in the Lord Camden Inn. While my expectations going in were relatively high based on the reviews I had read, reality exceeded these expectations. Our room was terrific, with a great view overlooking the city and the adjacent river. The location is great as well, with pretty much everything in Camden within walking distance. The staff was extremely friendly, although some were not as knowledgable about the area as would be expected. The only downside was that the parking lot was off-site, but since it was only about two blocks away, it was not a big deal. My wife and I would definitely stay at the Lord Camden Inn again if we revisit Camden.

The Ritz Carlton of Camden, Maine
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/05
What a fantastic experience! Staying at the Lord Camden Inn was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in a very long time. And I do a lot of traveling. The newly remodeled rooms were superb, with a distinct attention to detail. Their new Suite Dreams Beds were even more comfortable than the Westin's Heavenly Bed. The customer service was unbeatable. Their complimentary full breakfast was outstanding. I will definitely be back. The only minor drawback was that their fitness room was not complete yet, but they planned to have it ready by the fall of 2005. I highly recommend the Lord Camden Inn to anyone traveling the coast of Maine. They even allow dogs, so the next time I'm up I am bringing my Lab.

Excellent service, comfortable & elegant.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/04
Enjoyed my stay at the Lord Camden Inn very much. Their staff are courteous and helpful. Always a warm smile and sincere welcome. My room was recently remodeled and surpassed some of the finest 4-star hotels I've stayed out on my many travels throughout the country. Their new "Suite Dream" beds were extremely comfortable and I loved the ocean view I had from my large fourth floor balcony. They even offer a delicious full breakfast. My only complaint is their fitness room was not ready yet. I guess they are still undergoing some remodeling and hope to have it finished by this winter. Will definitely return and recommend your place to my friends.

Great View of Harbor
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/04
The Lord Camden Inn is right on Main Street overlooking Penobscot Bay. Their friendly staff will help make your stay in Camden a delight. The newly refurbished suites have gas fireplaces big comfy beds and elegant marble lined bathrooms. Spend the day hicking or sailing and then enjoy a seafood dinner in one of a dozen restaurants within a couple hundred yards.
