Olivier House Hotel, New Orleans

loved the decor, staff, and location...price was better than other hotels and rooms were unique and very clean... my room had a brand new bathroom with a huge! tub...thanx olivier!

I have stayed at slightly nicer hotels but never one that i enjoyed as much as the Olivier House. It is a really interesting building right in the middle of the quarter. The staff was great and our room was very nice and very clean. There is a pool and free parking which is really handy in the quarter. I would recomend this hotel to any of my friends.

I stayed at the oliver house a while back and loved it. After staying there again last week i thought i would write another revew. I still love it. The location and staff are great. The building is on the national historic register and due to its age, there is an occasional problem with a room but the staff more than compensated for it. I have honestly never stayed at a hotel in the US that had the same quality of old-world atmosphere that this place did. I dont understand the negitive reviews on this site but i hope that anyone who is looking for a hotel in the French Quarter will give this place a try because, it is one of the neatest hotels you'll ever come across.

We've stayed here many times. Location is excellent for wandering the streets on foot. Balconies and lush hidden courtyards with tons of greenery. Warm and inviting with so much character and reflectiveness of old New Orleans style.

We have stayed in virtually every nook and kranny of the Olivier. In addition, when we couldn't be there ourselves, we have recommended the hotel to scores of friends....and Katheryn and Jim Danner et al have always been great hosts. We have stayed at the hotel for Mardi Gras, JazzFest and St. Patrick's/St. Joseph's festivities. We have stayed there in December and we've stayed there in August. It is wonderful, full of atmosphere and history and most of all, like home....that is, if one's idea of home is a Creole mansion. Perhaps the happiest moment after Katrina was calling the hotel and hearing Bobby Danner answer the phone to tell me everyone was okay. Am looking forward to our next visit.

Our entire family stayed at the Oliver House 3 years ago for a family wedding in New Orleans. It was funky and fun. We loved the quirkiness of the hotel and the staff was wonderful. We had six suites and hotel rooms combined, I think we had every type of accommodation the hotel offered; our oldest daughter was lucky enough to end up in the garden suite (fabulous). Some rooms developed problems and our family members staying in those rooms were immediately accommodated - even moved to a new room! My husband and I can't wait to go back and our daughter is going there for her honeymoon in October 2005.

It has character.It is 1/2 block off of Bourbon St if you are into that side of the city.The parking is free,but let them know you will need to park when making reservations.The people that work there are great.

It was a quaint little place close to everything the rooms were spacious and very cleancant wait to visit again

I have stayed with the folks at the Olivier House 4 times, the last being January of '06. We were among the first tourists after Katrina and were so happy to see the hotel was left with all of her glory in tact. It has flavor, character, charm, personality, a great location right off Bourbon, and a warmth that keep us coming back. We had the honeymoon suit this time and my husband thought he was in another lobby as we entered! The fireplace and candles were lit for our arrival, the music was gently floating in from the balcony and everything was perfect! It is like visiting with family. We stay here a lot because of the location (right off Bourbon)and the price. The staff is friendly and accomodating. Not your typical hotel, it has New Orleans character which is what we like about it(every room is different).
