I'll never be back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/26/11
1. Greeted by hostile guest services rep. who demanded we upgrade our reservation because they were out of our original room (for a $20+tax fee). 2.Given wrong directions to our room 3. Breakfast service was expensive and mediocre 4. Housekeeping did not clean the room. 5. Have to pay alacarte for all amenities...gym extra, Internet extra ($7.00 an hour?). 6. Decent location to convention center and ok location to French quarter. 7. World class restuarant only has world class prices. 8. Rudest hotel staff I've ever encountered.

Missing Money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/14/11
Although this appears to be a nice hotel I had money taking from the in-room safe. I reported it to front desk and security. They did a audit of the safe and advised me that only my code was used to enter the safe. I informed them of the break-in to notify them that there is a problem. I realize that there is a disclaimer on the safe and would have been satisfied with some type of apology but to be made to feel as if I were lying is TOTALLY Unacceptable.

By carl, 9/1/10
the hotel's valet scracted my sister-in-law's car and refuses to pay for the damages, why would anyone stay at a hotel that cost you hundreds more after you leave because of dumb valet drivers...do not stay here

Ghosts?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/16/10
Wow! Based on these reviews I have just reserved 4 nights at this hotel during September of 2010. I defy all ghosts and demons to haunt me at any time during my stay. I also find it odd that nobody has reviewed this hotel since last year. Hmmm, maybe the hoodoos are indeed a problem. If anyone has an experience with the Riverside Hilton prior to Nov. I'd like to hear about it.

Very Nice Hotel, but ....
By John E, 12/28/09
Likes: Great staff. Great view. Very convenient location. Easy parking. Walking distance to everything. Clean rooms. Dislikes: No free internet. Parking fee is outrageous. Train runs way too close to hotel. Hotel run restaurant is awful. Overall I loved my stay here. Its my second time there and it was great again. The staff was awesome. My only complaints is with the nickel and diming that they do. Nothing is complimentary. They charge $30 a day to park and like $6/hour for internet. The train tracks are right next to the hotel so I was startled out of my sleep at 3:30 am by a train whistle. The view of the Mississippi river was amazing and the location to everything is great. We walked everywhere. If you can use a taxi I'd recommend it.

$$ for everything
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/25/09
1. Looks quite old 2. They charge for everything. I have never been to a hotel where they charge for a wi fi connection. 3. Their restaurants don't offer a lot. 4. Definitely not worth of your money.

looking for a ghost...stay on the 23rd floor
By Cynthia, 9/7/09
the room we stayed in was haunted by a white man without a face that stood over us while we slept and moved the shower curtain while we were in the shower. I woke up the second night around 230 am cause i thought my partner was trying to wake me he was standing over me trying to speak but couldn't. freaked us out we left early.

Do NOT BOOK THIS Hotel
By John, 4/12/09
It took forever to confirm reservation. Asked for firm bed, did not get it, got a call on hotel phone at 12:20 AM for no reason at all. Room was too small and not very private (could hear conversations and activities from 3 other areas). Could not get a cup of coffee at 4:00 AM. Desk people were detached and not very helpful. Could not find local channels on TV had to call front desk for how to get them. They charge you for everything as an extra. The only thing you get in your room is a bed and you pay extra for anything else. To add insult to injury when you leave they slap you in the face with a $30.00 dollar a day parking fee to park in their dirty dingy parking garage. SCREW the Hilton, they Screw you.

No extras. You pay for everything!
By Dingo, 12/17/08
If they can charge you for it they will. I paid $60 for parking. And I had to pay $5.00 to use the business center to check my email. Internet usage is $.49 a minute $5 minimum. There are better places to stay for alot less.
