During Hurricane Katrina
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/07/05
My family and I stayed here during Hurricane Katrina because we live in a mobile home and felt the hotel would be safer.
First of all, we were forced to pay for 3 nights even though we only needed 2. The maid service never came to our room, even though the phone lines were down and we couldn't call for additional supplies. We had to use our own towels and toilet paper. Before long the bottoms of our feet were black because the carpet was so dirty. My dad had bite marks around his ankles that he believes are flee bites.
One of the reasons we had chosen this hotel is because they have a pool, but the pool was closed throughout our stay.
Maybe under other circumstances the service would have been better, but I'm not willing to give it another try. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I was searching for an official Red Carpet in website to complain directly to them, but I haven't been able to find one.
