who cares about the guest??? they sure didn't
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/18/09
i stayed at this hotel jan. 12. i work for a quality inn so i know the ins and out of everything that a front desk clerk SHOULD be doing for the guest, well let me just say that the employees of this hotel could care less. i had never driven to nola so i called for directions... the directions that they gave me got me lost. we finally get to the hotel and check in and we paid CASH for the room. the front desk clerck was very rude. as we go to our room we use the tiny 2x2 elevator that was only big enough for maybe 1 person and it sounded horrible. when we get to the room we decied that we wanted to watch tv. the cable was so fuzzy you could barley see the tv show. even thought it is jan it was still warm in the room and the ac didnt work at all. the next morning we go down for breakfast, it was ok but all they had to drink was coffee and i am not a coffee drinker. we asked the front desk if they were goin to put out and juice or milk and they told us that they didnt have any wtf?? how do you not have juce when you know that you will be busy for breakfast. as we went to check out the front desk girl asked us if we wanted to keep the room charge on the card that we had booked it with... WE PAID CASH AT CHECK IN. then when we told them that they said that we didnt and basically told us that we were lynig. being that work for that chain of hotels i know how the system works. when a guest pays cash at c/i the only thing that is printed is a registrration card and 1 recipt for cash that is for the front desk to keeo for their rocords, if a guest wants one they have to ask for it, well since i knew how it worked i didnt ask for one BIG MISTAKE the front desk manager then got involved she then basically told us that we were lying about how we piad and said that she was going to charge the credit card that they had on file. not once did she ask for id to the credit card or even swipe the card for all the she knows that card could have been stolen. when we told them that we were not goin to pay for the room again they charged the card anyway. she was very rude. we asked to talkt to the general manager and he was "busy" he was standing right next to us and just didnt want to take care of the situation at that moment. finally after 20 min had past we got only 1 "i'm sorry". the manager said that there was no record of our room being paid for by cash and the drawer was not over the amout that we has paid.... so where do you think our money had gone??? IN THIER POCKET!! we had a plane to catch so we did not have the time to sit around and wait for them to pull their heads out of their asses before we got some ansers. i letf them my email and a phone number so they cuold call me and tell me when they " found" the money when i finally did get that phone call 7 hours later all she said was "we found you money" no explination as to what happend or anything. she also said that she would email me an apology. im still waiting on that email. im sure i will never get it. needless to say i will never stay at that hotel again. they were rude, and inconsiderate. they all need to be fired. if i had treated one of our guest at my hotel like i was treated i would have gotten fired and the guest would have gotten their money back that would have come from my paycheck and the amout for the room would have also come from my paycheck.

Don't waste your money.
By Keith B, 10/27/08
Stayed here in Sept. of '08. Hotel is old, OLD!! Not in a desirable part of town. Breakfast area was a mess at 8 am. Desk clerk seemed to be bothered by checking me in. Would never stay here again.

TRAVEL AGENT VS. HOTEL
By 3D, 06/09/08
I WAS NOT AWARE THAT WHEN I BOOKED THE HOTEL ON LINE THAT THE HOTEL WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FIND THE RESAVATION AND A I WOULD HAVE TO PAY AGAIN PLUS WAIT UNTIL MY TRIP WAS OVER TO GET THINGS RESOLVE IN 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS. THE AMOUNT OF DOLLARS I PAID A NIGHT WITH THE AGENT I WAS OUT DONE I FEEL YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AND THIS ROOM WAS NOT WORTH IT AND WHAT THE HOTEL CHARGES I FEEL THEY ARE OVER CHARGING FOR THIS PLACE I DID MAKE THE BEST OF IT DUE TO THE LOCATION AND THE POOL AREA THE OUTSIDE LOOKS A HOT MESS AND THE HALLWAYS TO THE ROOM SMELL LIKE PURE SMOKE BUT THE LOBBY WAS NICE THE ONLY WAY I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN THE PRICE WOULD HAVE TO BE RIGHT CASUE I DO FEEL YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

good location
By Sheryl S, 02/07/08
was in a good location and the staff was willing to help you out. we were able to get taxis easily and the staff helped us call for the taxi when we needed it. There is also a bus stop right accross the street. Complimentary breakfasts are very good. There is also very good food in the lounge (grill style food) in the evenings. 2 convienence stores accross the street and a 24 hour diner accross the street.

Two Tries - Both Good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/12/08
I've stayed here twice in the past four months because my company booked me here. I was little nervous because the building looks strange for a hotel but was really pleased w/everything. (Turns out building was built as an office building.) Furniture is dated but everything is clean. Handy little bar. Easy access to the area, which I needed.

Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/06/07
This place is really the pits. No restaurant. Someone tried to enter our room about 10.30 at night under the pretense of being a maintenance man. When i called the front desk to check on him i was told they had no maintenance man that fit his description but they wouldn't even send security to check him out. We slept with a large table against the door for the rest of the night. When we checked out the next morning the two people at the front desk wouldn't even talk to me about what happened the night before. Stay away from the place.

Like staying with a friend
By bxgirl, 06/08/05
This place has the friendliest and most helpful staff I've ever met! With easy access to the highway (just turn right!) we were having breakfast in the French Quarter in 10 minutes, seeing alligators in the Bayou in 20 min and hitting the shopping & restaurants in 2 min. If you're not looking to stay right down in the heart of New Orleans, this place was centrally located and very relaxing. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We did have to have them work on the toilet, but we figured the out the trick so we were ok. Not luxury, but a great place to stay.

Movin' on up...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/16/05
This hotel has an exterior remiscent of the building that the Jefferson's lived in from the much-loved 70's TV show of the same name. The lobby is very nice, but don't let that fool you. The rooms are old, and they have done very little to improve their furnishings. We had a fridge and TV, but they were awkwardly squeezed into a room that clearly was not designed to accommodate these appliances. The bathroom was dirty, and the floor was sticky and wierd. When I asked the front desk to send someone to mop during the afternoon, they assured me that IF the floor were dirty, the cleaning staff would take care of it. I guess my definition of disgusting did not meet their minium requirement for cleaning. They advertize a data port in every room, but when I called the front desk to find out where it was, they told me they had "no idea". I searched and found that they intended me to unplug the phone to dial in. Unfortunately, that did not work, and they charge $.75 per local call. Nice touch...Quality. There is no service at this place. The hallways are smokier than an Indian Casino, the wallpaper in the room is yellow-striped ala a "Circus Tent", and I had to wear shoes to go to the bathroom. Ya got me? It's a cheap hotel, and you get what you pay for. This is not a typical Quality hotel. You can get a better deal and better room at a Motel 6.
