What a supprise
By Norsk, 1/6/10
The service was first class. Everyone tried their best to give us a good time. The location was near everything.. We only had to walk several blocks to restaurants, shops, the river, and " the street " that is world famous. This is a great place to check out.

Wish I could have stayed longer!
By Joe, 3/17/09
Service 5/5 The staff was friendly and very helpful. I booked though neworleanshotels.com and had no problems with check-in. Cleanliness 5/5 I've stayed at some dank hotels in the past (thanks for noting AAA!). Bienville House was clean, and not just in the lobby. Rooms were well kept and clean, including the bathroom. Location 5/5 Wow, could not have a better location! Right on Decatur Street, you are mere blocks away from St. Louis Cathedral, Jackson Square, the French Market, The Aquarium, etc, etc... Value 4/5 The price for the room was very reasonable. We got a balcony room overlooking Decatur Street for only a little extra cost. The only negative here is the parking, which costs you $20/day for a car and $25/day for SUV or truck. This adds up to a lot! Unfortunately, it's easier to find the Holy Grail than it is to find parking otherwise, so you're stuck with it. Ambiance 5/5 This is an extra category that I like to add. Places like Holiday Inn and the Hampton Inn (while often a good value) simply do not have that local feel. The Bienville House Hotel was built back in the 1800's and still has that "New Orleans Feel." Overall 5/5 Stay here!

The best stay in NOLA ever!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/13/08
I come to New Orleans all the time and wanted to try a french quarter hotel. Bienville House was a great surprise! They have beautiful rooms that remind me a french estate. Very chic! The hotel staff helped me in every way. I will come back again and again.

Love this place
By Rock Chalk, 4/24/08
I read some of the reviews bellow and would disagree with the negative ones. I have stayed here three times over the course of the past year and have fallen in love with this hotel and its staff. Yes, there are some areas of the hotel that are not entirely resorted from the hurricanes, but look around the entire city almost NOTHING is entirely restored. The pool was out the last time I was staying here, but we asked the staff at the desk and they let us know we had full use of the hotels sister pool a block away. Which, might I add was gorgeous roof-top pool. As for the comment about paying for parking, I live in Chicago and travel all across the country on business, it is quite the rare occasion to stay at a high quality non-chain hotel and not have to pay for parking. Over all this is one of my favorite hotels to stay in and I would highly recommend the Bienville to anyone staying in New Orleans!

The elevator was out and we had to take the stairs
By KENNISE, 2/28/08
The staff wasn’t helpful and was very rude. The elevator was out and we were traveling with a disable guest. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to any of my clients.

Will Go Back when the price drops
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/27/08
I loved the courtyard. I also loved the idea of free parking for guests. I feel as if you have chosen a particular hotel to stay, it's kinda tacky to also ask the quest to pay for parking. I think that should be a courtesy. The only con I have would be that the rooms are too small.

Great location in a great city!
Bienville House Hotel was a great place to stay when our first trip to New Orleans came up. I went online and checked MANY hotels in the area and picked Bienville House Hotel because of the website info and the REVIEWS. The reviews are what I really based my selection on. I was not disappointed! It was a grand old hotel in the French Quarter and so close to so many interesting places. The Aquarium of the Americas was right out our window along with the IMAX Theater. Both were great. Landry's and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. were both within a block and a half.Bourbon Street was only three blocks away and so many shops and eateries within walking distance. The staff was great and very helpful with getting us a rental car to arranging to go back to the airport. Our room was beautiful and we slept great. Bathroom area was small but clean. Having a computer in the lobby to print our boarding passes was quite convienient. The continental breakfast was reinstated when we stayed there in early August, 07 and the work on the swiming pool should be done soon. The pool area will be beautiful when its finished. I'd go back to Bienville House Hotel again if we get a chance to go to New Orleans again. The town is getting back to normal and will be better than before the hurricane and flood. We could hardly see any damages where we were. But other parts of town still look sad. It takes a long time to completly clean up that mess, but a lot has been done. The people are great. But maybe next time it might not be in August that we visit. HOT and HUMID now have new meaning to me. Thank goodness for A/C.

UNDER CONSTUCTION
By Kristin, 7/26/07
We were greeted horrible rude on july 19 at 10:30 pm. The hotel never mention that the pool is torn out and the resturant has not been running since the hurricane. My little boy was so disappointed that there was no pool. The elevator was out and we had to take the stairs at one point. Location of hotel was great and the rooms were Okay. I still recommend picking a different hotel that is up and running. they need to close the doors and finish repairs.

Your Service was Great!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/13/07
We were late booking, but that was no problem for your staff. They were friendly and eager to make us feel at home. We want to personally thank Adrence, Nals, Chris and Beverly. (I hope I got the spelling correct.) Please let them know we recognized them. When we return to N.O, we will definately stay with you again. Thanks, Tom O'Neal
