Clean, but frat house atmosphere

While the rate was attractive, our reservation was for two double beds and we walked into a single bed room. After a trip to the front desk, we moved to a two bed room. Everything was very clean. The front desk staff had very limited information about the area, nor did they seem to care about helping their customers. The worst though, was the pool area was inhabited by loads of beer drinking, rough characters. Really rough language and lewd behavior. After the first night, my kids didn't even want to try and swim again. Definitly not family friendly.

Wonderful!

We ended up staying here because we booked another room elsewhere and it was too horrible to stay, so we decided to just spend extra money and stay somewhere else. It was super clean! Super friendly! And the pool was great! I would recommend everyone stay here!

You gotta stay here !!!!

My company puts me up at this hotel 2 nights a week. I want you to know, it feels great to walk in the front door and be addressed by my first name. The breakfast is very good. I stayed in Atlanta at the CNN Omni Hotel and it was not as nice as this place. At the Westbank, the room is so comfortable when you walk in, the temp. is just right, beds are so comfy. The microwave, coffee maker and the fridge in the room are very nice. I love to come from work, take a shower and get comfortable in the big chair in each room and relax. My wife comes and stays with me from time to time and when she is not with me, the ladies at the front desk always ask me where the wife is this week? What friendly and personal service. Ive only gotten to my room and needed something on one occasion. I called the front desk and it was at my room is less than 3 minutes. I am blessed to be able to stay here. You wont be sorry you stayed at this Best Western.

Helpful and Professional Staff

My last visit to this hotel was unexpected, and it turned into a very pleasant stay. The Coplands next door was amazing, and when I left a very important textbook in my room over the weekend, the staff Fed-Exed it to me right away when I asked them to. I will definitely stay here again whether it be business or pleasure.

This is a really great place to stay. The front desk staff were friendly and helpfull. Thr room was fairly large and comfortable and very clean. I visit the area on occassion, and stay there every time.

Nice yet some policy not attractive

We usually stay in Best Western hotels whenever we travel, however I will have to rethink staying here again. I felt like I was treated like a teenager tring to rent a room for a party after prom. My husband and I always pay cash for almost everything. Its just what we like to do. When I told the desk clerk that I was paying cash, she informed me of the $100 deposit policy for cash customers. I have never had to pay a deposit before and never will I again. The bad part wasn't paying it but being told that "cash paying customers in the past have caused problems, therfore the manager required a deposit from all cash paying customers". I was so embarassed. I hope management will rethink this policy before anymore "cash paying"customers are lost. We were really considering renting weekly rather than purchasing a trailer but I think I'd rather spend my money where I am treated like a paying customer and not a thief or vandal.

Stayed in this hotel two weeks and would go back in a heartbeat! Had the best food in the world on Thanksgiving thanks to the owner Don--You're a genius when it comes to that carrot souffle pie!!! Shirley

My 'Home away from Home'!

I love everything about the Best Western on LaPalco in Harvey, La. I've been staying at this location 2 or three times a year (sometimes reserving 2-4 rooms at a time)for the last 10 years. I love Copelands, the restaurant next to the lobby. The location is only about a 15 minute drive to the French Quarter. The hotel has iron and ironing board, hair dryer, refrig, microwave, coffee maker, continental breakfast. The lobby has a computer where you can check your email. The rooms are clean the pool and jacuzzi are very nice! I can't think of one bad experience since I've started staying there. I have recommended this hotel to many people in the last 10 years. The only problem I have right now is that I can't stay there on 10/27-10/30/05 as originally planned because of Hurricane Katrina. I can't wait to get back when it's available again! An ok place to stay.

Probably the nicest motel in Harvey. The next door resturant was really good (I would recommend it). The rooms were very clean. Having the Microfridge and Microwave in the rooms was a very good thing (I was traveling with kids and senior citizens). The breakfast was pretty good for a cold breakfast. The pool was ok. The staff overall was polite, but not very friendly-"We are tolerating these people staying in our motel." We needed extra towels and had to sign a paper stating we would pay for them if they went missing-very petty. I would probably stay there again because it was so clean.
