Old Kentucky Home Motel, Bardstown

The plumbing was out of order, The host has a nasty attitude, and that is just the start. My child got cut by there storm door and instead of showing concern for my child they demanded that we pay for the glass that should have been shatter proof.

Hotel was somewhat clean but very outdated. Furniture and carpet was stained, holes in the walls and no 3 prong plugs so I couldn't recharge my laptop! Bathroom looked like a blast from the 1950's. Website advertised this motel being owned by the Beam family for over 40 years. The Beam family no longer owns this motel and it shows. Free WiFi was worthless as the only place I could get a signal was on the front porch by the office. I would not recommend this motel to anyone unless you're on an extremely tight budget and our traveling alone.

My husband and I at first found this motel quaint and cute, a "vintage" type of place. The staff/owners were nice enough, until we came back from dinner and found a HYPODERMIC NEEDLE right outside our door. We complained and asked for a refund, as we had only been there long enough to drop our bags off. They were completely dissmissive and essentially said that it was not their problem. Needless to say, the room charge was not worth enough to risk our health by staying there. Thank goodness we never took our shoes off.

My husband and I wanted a weekend trip away from everything so we came to Bardstown. Stayed at this motel and thought it was quaint and nostalgic. They were very friendly to our little dog who enjoyed the stay as well. Place was packed with car buffs who were all pleasant and friendly. It took awhile for the air conditioner to adjust but it worked well once it did. Our room was very clean and we enjoyed it very much. May 2006

2nd visit to motel in last 3 year new owners change alot of this rooms same but very clean the hotel was of pretty good value. Room service came in everyday and made sure to leave the room quite clean with new towels and soaps in the bathroom. We were surprised to find a mini-fridge and a microwave. Would stay again

People were friendly, but the place is old and the amenities few. They did not give shampoo, and the airconditioning worked poorly. The bathrooms are out of the 1950's so even if they are clean they look dirty. The rooms are similarly old and look dirty, but I don't know if they were. everything is so old and dark. I have stayed in several places in Bardstown and this is the poorest of the lot

I stayed here 1 night on vacation (i had planned to stay 5) but left early! The room was dirty, the staff nasty, and the place very crepy! My window would not close and it had no screens when I complained to the staff that my window was 5 inches from closing I was told dont worry about it it is august, and when I said I wanted it closed for safty sake the reply was "you must be from the north" so my window stayed open. also the room was very dirty, we slept in our clothes on top of the bed. also while i was in the bathroom i saw strange shadows and "someone/thing" shoved me hard and i slipped and fell, my husband felt the same thing in the bathroom. (maybe its just because we are from the north!)if had not been the middle of the night and we knew the area we would not have stayed one minute!. YUCK!!!

Last Winter we had an ice storm that caused the electic in our area to go out, this was during the holiday season. We elected to keep our dollars in Bardstown and after checking the ads in the Yellow Pages we elected to try this motel. What a mistake!!! On the outside the place looks great, the type of place you'd find in small-town America.....but the inside was terrible. The room was dirty, mattresses so dirty that the bed bugs complained, you didn't have enough electical outlets to use multiple appliances (frig, microwave and lamp), at least one had to be unplugged. The fixtures in the bathroom looked nasty. I would not recemmend this place to anyone.

well,it was clean enough,but it was so hot in the room we almost had a heat stroke,when we asked about they had a real negative attitude,i love bardstown but will never stay in this place again.
