MUST READ THIS......BEFORE U STAY!!!
By ,
Listen up folks. We rented 2 rooms and they were dirty, the furniture looked like it had flood damage because they were so old and wore out and busted on the bottom. The room had a horrible odor coming from it. The floor hadn't been swept... you could see the paper and dirt on the floor! The in ground pool that is supposedly all new and renovated was not impressive at all. If you don't mind sleeping in filth then by all means.... be there guest. We left and will never return. Is seriously amazed that this place can qualify for 2 to 3 stars?! Really, who is checking this? This place needs massive work and to top it off, there is hardly anything open in Cave City anymore for the kids to do!Check on things before you go because alot of it has been shut down! It should be called Ghost town. My kids were very sad to see the shape it was in.Very misleading. Waste of time! What a shame!!!!! :((((

Old and decrepid but clean
By ,
The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was also pretty good and the rooms were clean. The best thing was the price. It was only $44 per night we stayed with a coupon we got at the Kentucky welcome center. That was for a double The girl on the phone who booked us actually told us about that. What I didn't like was the broken a.c. in one of the rooms we had. The appearance was very run down and in need of desperate remodeling. There was no odor for two days in the room but on the third day we noticed that as the number of people picked up you could actually smell smoke from adjacent rooms that penetrated the walls. That was probably the worst thing about our stay.

Ripe off! Avoid this Hotel like the Plague.
By ,
I was charged 95.98 on my credit card, but I was told at the front desk that only 78.93 would be charged after the AAA discount and the problems I had with the room. They would not give me a receipt at the front desk. There was no shampoo and conditioner, apparently they were out of stock. And the fridge was busted. When I reported it, they told me it was in defrost mode. After 3 hours it was still not working, when I asked to be switched rooms, they refused. On top of that the staff is incompetent. I asked for a discount the night the fridge was broken and I could not get a different room, and I was told to speak to someone in the morning when I checked out. The next morning I waited a half an hour at the front desk, with a line of 6 people behind me. The man at the front desk said my card was charged at midnight, and that the discount should have been taken off last night (when I had asked for it). He spent a good half an hour frustrated over the computer, unable to refund me, and instead accidently adding extra $10 charges to my room, he could not even close my account to check me out. He told me they would take care of it in the afternoon and that I could leave, but I could not get a receipt because it would not be accurate. They have a postcard in the room that states that if you are not 100% satisfied they will give you a full refund of the room, well that's completely false advertisement. I will never stay in a Comfort Inn ever again.

Well, the staff was friendly...
By ,
But the first room we were offered was a DUMP: dirty, smelly and in serious need of a remodelling job. I returned to the office and told the desk lady that it wouldn't do. She apologized and found us another that wasn't too bad - at least by comparison; but still no more than two stars. It was hot and a swim would have been nice, but the pool was closed, apparently because people were getting electrocuted in it. My experience is that before you book a motel online, you'd do very well to double check its ratings; and consider the negative reviews more seriously than the positives - which may have been written by the owners or managers. Also, when you book online - at least at "budget priced" motels - they seem to feel a need to try and stick you with their scroungiest room, and only offer you something better if you go back and complain. But when you complain, they will find you something better. In conclusion, there are much better places to stay than the Quality Inn at Cave City

Never again...
By ,
The price was great, under $60 with government rate. The desk staff was perfectly fine and the continental breakfast was actually not bad at all. The rooms!! UGH! The bedroom itself was shabby, but I actually have been in worse. I'm not sure I have been in a dirtier hotel bathroom tho. The corners against the walls and tub were kinda nasty and the whole bathroom just needed to be gutted! Oh, I forgot. The bedsheets were clean, but they were pretty dingy. At one time they were white, at one time. The only saving graces were it's location, the cheap price, and the fact that we only stayed one night. Go to one of the other hotels, please!

One Nasty Hotel!
By ,
The best thing I can say about this hotel is that Larry the guest services agent was a very nice man. It goes down hill from there. Within 30 minutes of our arrival there was an accident in the pool. We were told by another guest that very young girl was electocuted in the pool and so was another guest who saw her struggling and jumped in the pool to help her. They were transported to the hospital and I guess the staff was told not to discuss it because we couldn't find out any information other then they were in the hospital. That came as no surprise as this was the most unclean, nasty, poorly maintained hotel I have ever stayed at and I have traveled a lot. I also worked in the industry for several years and I can't believe that Quality Inn has not pulled the franchise. We had many people in our group and all of them were unhappy with the filthy rooms. The hotel must not have any housekeeping staff at all. Our room had hair all over the bathroom floor and used Q-tips on the floor. The bed had only a partial mattress pad on it, I was very nervous about sleeping on the bed because of how poorly the property was maintained. The other really odd thing is that all of the upstairs rooms in the back were out of service, closed up with no room numbers. It makes you wonder what happened there. Additional problems: one of our rooms did not have a shower curtain but that is okay because water on that bathroom floor would be a good thing, in another room the door would not stay shut unless you threw the dead bolt, all of the showers were so dirty that you had to put a towel on the floor of the tub to stand in it, and ours had a hole in it that they had tried to fix by putting caulk on it. All in all, I was relieved and delighted to get out of there. The whole place was run down. But on second thought, the whole town seemed to suffer from that run down look. Do yourself a favor, find somewhere else to stay. You'll be safer and happier.

Suprisingly nice!

While the grounds were somewhat run down and the hotel was in need of some renovation, the room was immaculatly clean and the price was great.

Not bad for the price...
By ,
Not a bad place to stay for the price. Close to all the surrounding attractions and eateries. Not as nice as other Quality Inn properties, but it gets the job done.
