Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Wichita East, Wichita

Took the kids on one of Daddy's business trips, since the company already paid for the room. This had to have been the BEST hotel experience with our kids so far! We were given a "penthouse" room, which is a kitchenette unit with a sleeping loft and second bathroom. Talk about space to spread out! The first floor includes a Murphy bed (for the uninitiated, that's a bed that folds up into the wall) and a fold out full sized sleeper sofa. Hubby and I had the queen bed in the loft with our own TV and private bath. The full breakfast every morning (in the main gatehouse) was a blessing as we didn't have to haul the kids out to eat every day (and I didn't have to cook or do dishes!), as was the Monday thru Thursday reception (read: happy hour!). The kids LOVED the pool and the 5 minute drive to All-Stars Adventures(rides, arcade games, bumper boats, putt-putt golf), and I just loved how relaxed we all were. Only wish Cowtown were open to the public when we were there - missed it by a week! The staff were all very attentive and friendly - the one and only problem we had the whole time was very minor (jammed door lock) and it was fixed within minutes. Who'd have thought that going on a spouse's business trip would turn into such a relaxing family vacation? We are all already planning and hoping for our return!
