Suggestions during the renovation

I wish I would have been advised, at the time I made my reservation, that this hotel was under renovation! I paid $90.00 per nite for 4 nites in a room that may have been worth $45.00. This hotel offered no amenities, just apologies. No pool, hot tub, sauna, work out room. No arrangement with other local facilities for those complimentary services, while under renovation. No "free" newspaper. The A/C did work, but was noisy. The unit sits with the back outside, so during a rainstorm over nite, the rain could be heard banging against the A/C unit. People coming to the room all during the day "checking" on the same things I have read from previous reviewers! Problems with the telephone...The TV worked. The bed was high and "ok".
Under renovation? The interior design must have been done by someone who hallucinates! Those huge metal mirrors, do not compliment or go with the outdated wood furnishings. The renovated bathroom was also a designers night mare! The tile and grout work is very poorly done. Coffee pot in the bathroom? Please...I also had to wash stains out of the coffee mugs and just could not use the dirty/stained water glasses.
The restaurant/room service personnel were excellent!
I did not complain to management nor front desk personnel. I understand that these hotel management issues are not their concern and that they have nothing to do, but their jobs. I hope the multi-millions of dollars being spent on this project will result in this becoming the most spectacular hotel in the State of Kansas, BUT I DOUBT IT!
