Clarion Hotel Manhattan, Manhattan

I recently stayed at the Clarion Hotel in Manhattan Kansas July 2nd and July 3rd. At first arrival the pool was out of order apparently the chemicals were mixed wrong, makes me wonder if they have anyone there who knows what they are doing. I reserved two rooms one for my self and one for my daughter, son in law and baby granddaughter. I asked for adjoining rooms, which they were not. We were with a group for a family reunion which we have had there for years. We were not the only ones who did not get adjoining rooms who asked for them, yet others who did not request them had them. One correction I did have an adjoining room but I don't know who it was with. The first room my kids were in the air conditioning didn't work and there were ceiling tiles missing in the bathroom, there was also a beer bottle cap on the floor. So they were moved, in this room the carpet and the bathroom floor was soaking wet, but I couldn't call because the phone in that room did not work. So I walked down to the desk they gave me the key to another room, I went to this room, the key didn't work. This time my son in law went to the desk, come to find out there was already someone in that room when the clerk unlocked the door. They finally got a acceptable room. All three of these rooms were on the bottom floor, after my 83 year old aunt was told there was no rooms on that floor available,which is what she made her reservation for. Did I mention the elevator was out of order. I was told some of the rooms didn't have shower curtains. The outside balconies also have crumbling concrete and exposed rebar. When my son in law went to get the last room he was told a manager would get a hold of me on saturday, I never heard from anyone. To top it off we were getting ready to leave my daughter's room it was just a few minutes after 11:00 there was a knock on the door to basically tell us to get out. When I went check out on Sunday morning I wanted to voice my complaints, I was told that was unacceptable, but there was no manager there but they gave me Ms. Fritchen's card and told me she would be back at the motel July 5 by 5:00 am. I tried calling at 8:30 am July 5, I was told she wasn't in yet. I tried again in the afternoon I was told this time she was out of town until the next day. You all need to get your story straight. So I tried again today July 7, first they told me she was there, and of course I was put to her voice mail, I wasn't going to leave a message, so I called back and said I wanted to talk to her, they said she was there,but who was calling, I told her my name and I had stayed there over the weekend. Guess what? She had, had to leave the building. I give up, I hope other potential customers get to read this. I felt like since we got a group rate and a free breakfast we had to settle for this kind of service. I'm afraid not,but it won't be something I'll ever have to worry about.

This is a great place to stay in Manhattan. They have an indoor pool, putt-putt golf (which my kids LOVED), and ping-pong. The fitness center was great - and they were installing TVs at each machine, as we were staying there. They also offer a free hot breakfast buffet - and the morning staff was fantastic! The staff was very friendly throughout the hotel. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again! Thank you staff!!

I attended a Christmas Party in January and had a nice time. It had been years since I had been in this hotel. They have spent money on renovations, and I really enjoyed the bar after our event. Due to the weather we choose to stay the night. Their beds were nice and I liked the white down comforter. The staff serving our dinner was really helpful and I certainly will consider coming back.

I stayed at the Clarion for 3 nights while on business. The lobby looks nice but the second floor is a different story. The carpet is old and dirty. Trash littered the entire floor - for days. Vacuuming would help. My room was adequate but was not cleaned very well by the housekeeper: hair in sink, old bath mat left on floor, bed sloppily made, the counters hadn't been wiped and the room was not vacuumed. There was no manager on duty when I went to report the condition of the room. They tried to be responsive by sending the young housekeeper to the room. This was a very serious disappointment!

pool towels were dirty. room was old and dirty. the a/c stopped working. there was bed bugs in the bed.one night people banging and slamming doors. they were loud at the pool. had leaking roofs. the carpet was wet. had a horrible smll to the carpet after it was wet.

The staff and facilities are awsome. Great little bar and pub grub. Nice pool facilities. Stayed there the first time back in 1998 and most recently in June of 2009. I would highly recommend.

We paid top dollar for KSU graduation weekend and had to listen to the train go by and then at 6:30 am the construction on the roof started directly above our room. I will be back to Manhattan in the fall for a wedding but will not stay here again.

Internet prices start at $95, but government/military rates are $130. Military will only allow $70 for Manhattan area, so it seems overpriced

My friend recently stayed here with her boyfriend when they were visiting me. Her car got broken into and her wallet stolen out of the glove box! The staff was nice enough to call the police on her behalf and discounted the room, but I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here. The wooded area near the back parking lot makes for an easy get-away... AND on top of everything, the rooms were anything but clean.

Made reservations during a K-State football weekend. Checked in Friday night and found out they have a radio show in their restaurant. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed Paddy O'Quigley's food. Lots to choose from. My room was nice and clean and it was fun to see the K-State football team leaving the hotel the next morning as we were heading out to tailgate. Have already made my reservations for next year! Go cats!
