Americas Best Value Inn, Hays

the room was clean the staff was very frienly an polite receive a welcome email with attractions in the area after booking my room an recevie a thank you email after our stay which was very nice and different from any other hotel chain i have booke with before. The pool was clean an the hot tubs were great. For the price it is a great place to stay good location just minutes from activites, shopping and food.

I'm packing up, ready to move on in my driving trip, after spending a comfortable night in a cool, clean room at America's Best Value Inn, in Hays, KS. It was a good experience and a very inexpensive stay. I have stayed in various motels in Hays several times and been a bit unhappy each time, for a variety of reasons. This time I didn't call around for reservations until the day before and had limited options, so ended up choosing ABVI because the reviews here sounded good. I didn't arrive until after midnight, but wasn't worried, because when I called to make sure I'd still have a room I a friendly voice assured me it would be here. It was! The clerk (I wish I had noted her name) was friendly and efficient, the small lobby was clean and tidy and the overall look of the place was clean. However, I was tired, and as I went up the well-worn, slightly dingy outside stairwell, I dreaded finding what I was sure would be a fairly clean but icky room. I was pleasantly surprised to find a cool, clean, well appointed room that resulted in a great night's sleep. Wireless internet was a plus! There is a microwave and small refrigerator in the room. The refrigerator makes the usual noises cycling off and on, which is why I'm glad I always travel with a white noise machine. When I turned it off I could hear a bit of traffic and other outside noises, as well as the fridge, but with it there is nothing but whoosh, which I like. The bathroom was fine, with soaps on the counter, clean towels and clean fixtures and corners. There's a fabric recliner, which I never view as a plus, because I can picture various people in various states of undress reclining on it before I got here. Good lighting. Good temperature control in my room. I slept cool and comfy all night. I drive a lot and stay at many budget locations as well as many upscale places, according to the situation. I've enjoyed the Hampton here, (at 2.5 times the cost). But, for passing through or a few nights or even more, the ABVI is very good and provided value, comfort and clean accomodations. I already have made reservations for my return trip in a couple of weeks. The historic old cemetery is across the street and I'm going to visit that before I leave. Hays has a fascinating history and is a good place to visit!

After an absolute nightmare at the worst motel in Salina (The Starlite) on our way out west, we were very surprised & delighted on our return trip at how neat and tidy the America's Best Value Inn at Hays was. To keep such a large motel so clean and functional, the management and staff must really go above & beyond for us guests. From the front desk to the maids, everyone was very friendly. Couple that with all the amenities, and that just makes your vacation all the more pleasant & memorable. Great, great stop over for us! I highly recommend the America's Best Value Inn at Hays, KS.

The rooms are clean with small fridge and microwave. The hottub is nice. Stayed in October so the swimming pool was covered. Nice location. Friendly staff.

The Vagabond Hotel in Hays, KS, is close to the Fort Hays State University Campus, the historic Fort Hays tourist attraction, and the Sternberg Museum. The Mall is also only about two blocks away. The rooms were modern, clean, and recently decorated. This is a nice, comfortable hotel.

Very nice motel which seems to cater to business travelers and families and seniors on vacation. Each rooms seems to be individually decorated with touches such recliners, rocking chairs, mircowaves, etc. You can park by your door with many of the rooms. Really nice indoor spa and large outdoor pool. A nice chef owned restaurant (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is adjacent and several more plus a nice bar and grill are located in the shopping center next door. Location is about 10 blocks off the Interstate, which I think is a plus as rooms seem very quiet. I've been going here for many, many years and the same local family has always owned it and from my experience appears to take a lot of pride in the motel. Highest recommendations!
