Americas Best Value Inn - Manhattan, Manhattan

I didnt expect the place to be among the best when I booked it. It was a last minute decision and all of the more "known" hotels were booked. But, I didnt expect the place to be this bad! There was dried blood (lots of it) stained down the sides of the box-spring mattress...like someone had been SEVERLY injured. I killed four flies the first day and six more were in the room the next.The toilet squealed when you flushed it. To make matters worse, our room was not ready when we arrived, even though I booked it a twelve days in advance. And the bloody room is what we ended up getting (room 211). The free breakfast was a joke: fruit loops, stale bagels, gravy in a crockpot (for the biscuits) and watered down orange juice. Please, please, please if at all possible, stay away. I highly recommend staying somewhere else.

We got a room there cause my husband was going to iraq and it was all that was avaliable and i have a 16mo old daughter and i went to go give her a bath and the bath tub was black i tried running hot water and the tub was clogged i went an got bleach and it made the towel black it was gross. Also they have a funny old smoke smell! Just wasent what i bargained for!

My friends and I all got bed bugs from staying at this place. Totally gross.

My family and I stopped here last weekend and thought the service was just great. The prices were fair and the overall quality was good, my kids loved the pool, unfortunately we had to get out at 10pm. But we will come back again on our next visit to Manhattan.

The place itself can be cleaned up it the Owner would allow the employees to do the work, he won't, too cheap! The front desk help is wonderful now. Don't give up on this hotel it is improving with the new help.

The pictures do NOT show the poor maintainance and pathetic mgmt of this motel. 1) There was dirt and concrete rubble on the steps up to the 2nd floor & on the walkway to out rooms. This was not 1 days debris, more like months. Could have been solved with a broom. 2) Yes, I said rooms, even though we only needed one. The 1st room: TV had loud buzzing noise, AC did not seem to work well. Smelled like carpet cleaning fluid. 2nd room, non-smoking room had strong stench of something as soon as we walked in. 3rd room did not smell and was very nice. Had very sloooow sink drain, was concerned about a plugged drain. 3) Ice machine area had black dirt spots on floor and also debris. Not from 1 day, more like months. Could have been solved with a broom & mop. 4) The worst ... so called continental breakfast. Terrible! Juice machine put out orange & apple colored water.Trash can by coffee machine was full at 7am in the morning? Why? No spoons for cereal. One double toaster & one single, both with rusted spots on top. No bread for toasting, only muffins. Double toaster did not stay down, had to hold it manually to work, not real practical. Single toaster elements did not get red, so muffins were only warmed, NOT toasted. Pathetic considering toasters can be had $20 to $45. Great example of terrible management. No attention to detail. Is not even listed in our AAA travel book, it is that bad. Will definitely NOT stay here again. Certainly hope this place improves!

I loved the rooms and the service that was sooo good.If you never went there you should go there.I loved the breakfast it was sooo good.there were soo good maids.

The rooms are hooked to a common air conditioning and heating system and even though it is suppose to be a non smoking room you enjoy the smoke from others. Furniture and bedding are worn and general up keep is not very good. If you can't get another motel okay stay there. If not spend the extra 20 dollars and have a clean smoke free room at one of the other hotels.
