Waterford Estates Lodge, South Bend

I hate to even pass this on, it is so gross, but on the second day of our stay, the maid never cleaned our room. When I talked to the front desk, I told them I just wanted to get rid of the trash, (waste baskets were about 6 inches high), get some clean glasses and a few towels. That was all we needed. Well the maid came down to our room and I gave her the glasses and dirty towels. I went further into the room to get some paper sacks I wanted to throw away, and when I returned, she was washing the glasses in the bathroom sink! I almost threw up. I went out and looked at her cart and there were no glasses or cups on the cart to replace dirty ones with. I did ask at the front desk if that is the way dirty glasses are handled, and the clerk was very nice, but admitted that she really didn't know. She agreed it was gross and gave me some styrofoam cups. The outdoor pool was very pretty but the outdoor spa was filthy. The large tv on the wall was very nice, but very distorted. The sound kept jumping up and down when you changed the channel. We went to the hotel dining room to get coffee one morning and it must have taken us 15 minutes before the waitress came to our table. The air conditioner was very noisey, and kicked on sometimes for only about two minutes and then off again. I don't think we'll ever drink out of a hotel glass again.
