Clifty Inn, Madison

Just returned from a four day trip to Madison and once again had a most relaxing, wonderful stay at Clifty Inn, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! We have been staying there for the past six years and always look forward to our next visit. We have stayed in both the Parkview and Riverview rooms and suites and all were pleasant with all the amenities and comfortable beds. Our favorite is the Waterfall Suite, but we truly have never had an unpleasant stay no matter the room or suite we chose. We have recommended Clifty Inn to many others and they have all reported back to us that they were quite pleased with their time there and intend to go back. The food is good, down home cooking and the service is excellent. The people at the front desk are helpful and caring, as well. The views from the Riverview wing are so pretty and ever-changing. Our last morning there, we awoke to a thick, flowing fog which was, in its own way, beautiful. It dissipated over a few hours and we were able to get several fantastic shots as more and more of the scenery appeared. We can't wait to go back!!

Love Madison - hate the Clifty. Better bring your own mattress. All of ours (we stayed in one of the newly remodeled suites) were worn out. We checked out three days early and no one even asked why at the front desk. We got two adjoining rooms at the Quality Inn nearby and couldn't believe the difference!

My wife & I had our honeymoon at the Inn overlooking the river 21 years ago. We go back at least once every year. The park is absolutely beautiful and there is something for everyone. You can walk a challenging trail, or stroll along the winding road that flows through the park. You will always see wildlife like deer, especially in the early mornings and early evenings. Be sure to visit the overlook tower and get a great view of the surrounding area including histori Madison. Our kid love the park as well. Madison is also a good place to stay as it is close to Cincinnati and other short trips. Also the drive along the Ohio River is fantastic. The only downside is the powerplant just below the Inn that produces a low hum all the time.

Every thing about the place was impressive! My daughter (8yo) loved the size of the indoor pool, I was impressed with the bed, and qualiy to detail, Ive stayed in rooms that went for more than 180 a night and were not even in the same class as this room. resturant has very good food, servers went out of there way to please us. We enjoyed 8 miles of hiking in the park over our two night stay, If I had a negitive, it would be the TV needs more cable channels, had all the news channels and local stuff. I plan on taking my wife back for a weekend soon.

A place I have only visited twice, but never stayed. My last visit was in 1983. Clerks are friendly and helpful. Good place for a hideaway honeymoon I thought. Gift shop has T-shirts and the only thick, durable oval coin holder in America made by Quikoin U.S.A. Every father should give their child a coin holder here for a lifetime treasure and memory they will keep forever. As of 2006, they still sell Coin Holders in the Gift Shop and currently had red and blue ones.

The view at the Riverview earns it's name for obvious reasons. The location is minutes away from the pleasant town of Madison where you can stock up on supplies for an extended stay. The buffet at the Clifty Inn will keep you fed and then some. Try to visit in the off-season for a nice seculded visit.

I WENT TO MADISON, IN FOR A ONE DAY TRIP IN JULY (PERTAINING TO MY JOB). I HAVE BEEN BACK 3 TIMES SINCE. WE STAYED AT CLIFTY INN. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS! AND THERE IS AN ATMOSPHERE THERE LIKE NO OTHER PLACE. I CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK. I HAVE INFORMATION THAT I BROUGHT BACK FOR ALL OF MY FRIENDS. I KNOW THEY WILL LOVE IT AS MUCH AS MY HUSBAND AND I DID.

I have stayed at Clifty Inn many times and it is one of the best hotels I've ever found. You get a 5 star room for a 2 star price!! The staff is the best you will ever find! Their restraunt has some of the best food you will ever eat! Plan for a friday night to have their Seafood Buffet. They have crab leggs and all the fixings!!! I stay here at least a couple times a year!!
