These reviews are all for an old Days Inn
By ,
Good job, Yahoo. You just plugged in the name of the new hotel, apparently, with all the reviews of a Days Inn that was previously in the space. The Days Inn closed a long time ago, maybe 07 or something; this new--completely different--lovely boutique hotel, the Hotel Lincoln, just opened in March 2012.

New hotel is much different...
By ,
Everyone should be aware that these reviews are very old, and this hotel has recently opened after undergoing a major renovation. We booked this hotel because we were going up for St. Patrick's day weekend, and all other hotels were sold out. It was a great choice though! The decor is absolutely amazing and the staff was wonderful as well. The pictures on the website do not do it justice!! I can't believe the website doesn't have better pictures. This hotel was great and I would happily go back next time I'm in Chicago.

you get what u pay for
By ,
The hotel was old, however for it location the price was good...the room were a big as my closet although the closet there was spacious...If you are going to have 2 people in the room expect being on top of each other (literally)in the room. The bathrooms were not updated. The hotel itself was clean, but the desk staff was never there and not very helpful...they have "shuttle" that you have to wait an hour to get on the elevator was worse b/c there are a lot of rooms and only 6 spaces on the elevator and we were there during a school's visit to chicago so there was a lot of taking the stairs.

Location is Not Enough
By ,
Especially with only one of the very small elevators working, this is an uncomfortable hotel. The public areas of the hotel are shabby and unclean. The guest rooms are small, which is understandable in a big city hotel. However, my room was pretty nasty. "Outdated" is the best thing to be said for the room. Suffice it to say you would not walk with bare feet. Avoid this hotel.

It's okay!
By ,
We wanted an inexpensive place to stay but yet close to the action during our visit for a wedding. The Days Inn Gold Coast was suggested in the wedding invitation. I read the previous reviews before I left and decided to wait and see. After reading the reviews and judging for myself, the hotel was okay. Although the rooms were spacious (two bathrooms, two closets-like two rooms combined into one), there was no chair to sit on, only the beds, there were iron burns in the rug and we had ants in one of our bathrooms (hair spray works great at getting rid of them!). I was disappointed in the shuttle because it only runs every hour on the hour. At times we needed it on the half hour and had to take one of the many "suicide" cabs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would I stay there again? Maybe, if they fixed up the rooms a little more and got better mattresses!

Not a good choice
By ,
The Days Inn recently dropped their affiliation with this hotel. Currently they are starting construction, and the hotel is not a good choice if you are looking for a nice place to stay. Also, in the past I have had a hard time getting good, honest service. For the price they are quoting you can find a much nicer hotel in the area.

great experience
By ,
I have to say I expected very little because of the previous reviews. However I was treated like it was a 5 star hotel. The staff was very friendly and my room was spotless every day. It is an old hotel and for the budget minded, but it wasn't grossly under par for the price. I felt very safe there and I got a good nights sleep every night. Louie's downstairs was always full of friendly staff and patrons.

Better than most reviews I read.
By ,
This hotel was close to downtown Chicago and only 3 miles away from Wrigley. It was better than I expected going based on the previous reviews. Would stay there again the staff was friendly only coffee for breakfast though and the rates were reasonable.

give it a chance....sheeeeesh!!!!!

listen...what to u want in ah toel for $100.00 US a night with a location like this? this is an excellent bargin...the staff were really good and the room was clean....read some of the reviews...who cares if the bath tub was been painted over?!?!?! ever stayed in a $100.00 per night in europe? if u have, then u would love this place! they do need coffee makers in the rooms, but there is a bar that opens at 8 am so you can always go down there to get coffee...seriously, we had a great view of the beach, a simple 2 minute walk to the lincoln park zoo and a $7.00 cab ride to anywhere we wanted to go (the nearest train station is a bit of a hike but it was still not bad...maybe 15 minutes or so)...easy access to wicker park and great clubs like neo (on clark)and berlin (on belmont)...will go back or maybe try the other days inn in lincoln park a go....regardless, for $100.00 US this place was great!!!!!!

Great Place to stay
By ,
It was a great place to stay. You have to park in the pay parking lot across the street, but it is guarded 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
