Horrible, Horrible, Horrible

Went into this hotel after a 2 1/2 hour drive. We were expecting a comfortaible hotel based on the pics on the expedia site. There was a strong smell of must and urine when we walked in. Down a main hallway there were mattresses lamps tables etc. stacked up in the hallway, making it look like people were sleeping in the hallway. The breakfast area had an out of order sign on the orange juice station and it looked unclean. Giving the hotel the benefit of the doubt, we checked in hoping because it would only be one night and our room would be better, it would be OK. My husband and kids went to see the pool area. When the got to the pool deck area there was a strange film over the top of the water, no pool filter was running, along with dead bees and other bugs in the pool. The hot tub was empty and we were told it hadn't worked for a long time. Our room had peeling walpaper and an extreme strong smell of pinesol. In fact, it was so strong, it kicked up my daughters asthma and she had to leave the room. You couldn't open the window to get fresh air in the room, and you could'nt see out the window because it was covered in a dried film. Checking out the bathroom there was a dark ring in the toilet, sink and bathtub. Everything looked old and had chips off the counters, etc. coming off everything. Also, when they vac'ed the room, the cleaner went around everything, but never actually picked things up and there was caked on food around the garbage can. We didn't spend the night due to our daughter's asthma and the unhealthy concerns we had. When we checked out there was another couple who checked out at the same time because they found rat droppings in their room. I had already found some weird stuff in the room and had put it in the toilet. However, the front desk person told me that I had no proof they were droppings. Needless to say, the hotel wouldn't give us our money back because they said we didn't pay them, and expedia wouldn't give us our money back because they said if the hotel wouldn't give us our money back they won't either. We have now put a stop pay on our AE credit card for dispute resolution. Again, HORRIBLE, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

I will never stay here again. The heat did not work, the room smelled like mold, and when we requested extra pillows one of them had what appeard to be a blood stain on it. The hot tub was broken, and the pool was filthy. The water looked green and when the sun shone on the water you could see a film on the water. The blanket on the bed was more like a foam rubber furniture pad with stains on it. We had a large group and everyone had the same problems with heat and smells in their room. My family slept in Sunday morning, but I was wide awake so I decided to sit in the lobby while I let them sleep in. Within 10 minutes my eyes were watering from the odor and I was coughing really bad. We did not use the ice machine, but one of our friends did and we were told there were bugs frozen in the ice. Not a place I will visit again.

Stary Far Away

The rates were cheap, but I would've gladly paid more for an upgrade to a different hotel. The pool was green (algae?). The common areas were hot (no air conditioning). Filthy rooms - spider webs behind all the appliances. Upholstery did not feel clean. Pillows were paper thin. Worst thing was the mold problem - don't stay here if you have any allergies to mold, or worry that you could possibly become allergic to mold.

I would NEVER stay here again!!

Although the rates were lower, after staying here I gues the term you get what you pay for holds true. The pool, hottub, and pool area was filthy, and on our third day of being at the hotel I had to go to the desk to ask for more toilet paper, towels, etc. This was after requesting that the room be cleaned that morning and being told they would try, but because of the Mother's Day brunch, every one would be busy. Also, the toilet in our room kept running and we had to keep the top of the tank off to adjust the water flow manually. Again, we were told no maintenance could be done until Monday. There are plenty of other palces to stay in Freeport, so choose wisely!!

think twice before staying here
By ,
We had a large group staying at this hotel for the weekend. We chose this hotel because of amenities that were told to us that they provided. They said they had a restaurant on premises, did not. They said they had a DJ in their bar that weekend, they had a jukebox. The pool was so green and the hot tub was broken down, water in it was very dirty and hadn't been clean in a long time. There was no heat anywhere in the hotel. The halls and rooms were so cold. We all put on the heat in our rooms full blast and left for over 12 hours and when we arrived back, it finally was warmer. Some of the guests bathrooms, were dirty. Toilet seat in one of the rooms fell apart when it was lifted, obviously, no longer able to use. None of the ice machines were working, you had to go to the front desk and then they would give you a small amount of ice to use. The rooms themselves were clean but that is the only good thing I can truly say about it all. We go to Freeport every few years as a large group and we would never again stay at this hotel. We paid approx $70 per room. That's a lot of money for what we didn't get.
