DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago - Schaumburg, Schaumburg

My room had a big red stain in the carpet. The coffee maker did not work in the room. The bathrooms are dark due to limited lighting. The room service forgot to bring towels one day. Rooms have been remodeled from the original build 25 years ago but the furniture is worn out. You can actually sink in many of the chairs.

The room was nice, except we tried to check in five different times. We were told over the phone that the room would be ready at 3pm. At 3:15, we were told it would be ready at 4pm. At 4:15, we were told it would be ready at 4:45....and so on. We finally got to check in at 5:30pm. What a joke. They gave us a cookie for our patience. Gee, how considerate.

the hotel was great. the room was great. the food was great. the pool was great. the service was great. i would stay here again.

Do not get me wrong, the hotel looked very nice, the help was nice to begin with, and the complimentary chocolate chip cookies were a nice touch. However, that night my girlfriend and I were awakened at approximately 12:30 AM by the sound of pounding bass & music from outside of our room. We couldn't figure out what in the world was going on... a block party in the parking lot? WWIII? So, we call the front desk and are told that it's the club right down the street, to which we asked, well then why did you put us in the corner of the building facing the club? She didn't have an answer, nor an apology, and things were left at that while we waited until approximately 2:30 for all of the bass & partying to stop. The couple in the room next to us must have been awakened as well, as things quickly turned into what sounded like a XXX film with the lady in the room screaming the place down while the headboard was beating against the wall. Ride 'em cowboy! Anyhow, we chose the Doubletree to get a good nights sleep in a room that was nice, cleanly, & of high quality... the room met our demands, but there's something missing... the sleep.
